You can find my pics here:

Given your car is fairly new, the trim pulls off with minimal hassle. The older the car, the more likely the plastic is brittle and will break.

Good point. I redo my Plasti-Dip every 6 months as it gets small chips or slightly worn looking. The fresher it is, the easier it is to peal and redo as well. After about the 4th time pulling the grill surround off of my early '09 I had to replace the plastic as most clips broke off. All of the trim pieces do not seem as fragile as the top grill surround. Take your time and pay attention to friction clips.

What Plasti dip? LOL...I ended up peeling it off because I was unpleased with the results. I ended up ordering the MINI blackline kit. I need to figure out what to do with the door handles and gas cap.

Yeti96 I should have you plasti dip some of my bits.

Did you use plasti dip on your "joey modded" headlamps? I'm curious how long it's been on and if the PD is holding up well to the heat of the Xenons? I used a gloss black high heat paint and it's holding up great so far but then it's only been about 4-5 months.

Along with the Joey mod, I did a HID/Projector retrofit. I painted everything but the actual projector. The paint has held up fine. After about a year the shroud melted quite a bit, to the point where I had to replace it and redo the lights (right before I left for MOTD 2012). The rubber had more cured from the barrage of heat over the year to the point where it wouldn't peel from the plastic.

Basically, the PD held up better to the heat than the plastic it coated. I was a little surprised honestly, I thought the rubber would have melted or degraded. Also good to note, my lights are on all of the time, even during the day.

yetti96...how did you get the lower part of the grill surround off? I want to Plastidip my grill surround, but cannot seem to figure out how to get that piece off.

TazMinianDevil...how durable is the Plastidip on your door handles? I was contemplating doing mine, but seems like it would wear off after so many door opennings and closings. Please let me know how it hold up.

Almost 2 years on with my VinylStyled blacked out pieces and no issues. They look as good as when I put them on.

The plasti-dip is holding up ok on the handles since I am being careful how I open the doors. If you look close you can see the start of chrome showing through. This fall I'm going to try something more permanent.

Very pleased with how its holding up on the trim though.

So you plasti dipped your whole panel? I love that look but wouldn't you prefer to use Vinyl?

I really liked the texture of the plasti dip and didn't have vinyl...so I just did it and really like it. Everyone seems to like it a lot and it is tougher than Vinyl I believe.

I think depending on how many coats you do yeah it'll come out tougher. But how would you get it off when you want to sell or trade in? Without scratching the paint of course

I've already removed it once and it came off with no problem with just me rubbing it with my finger and then clay barring it

On our recently acquired 2012 MCS Convertible.

Plasti-dip
Headlight rings
Grill surrounds
M7 Vortex 2 scoop
Chrome tail light rings

Note: Coilovers are on order to get rid of the horrific wheel gap.
