We chose Winston...Like Winston Churchill We tried to think of stodgy, important sounding British name...and out came Winston. Other choices:

Ringo
Llewis
Lloyd
Elizabeth

I call him Winnie for short...

Well you can convince yourself that it means Flip or Flush but use your imagination in a foul way and you'll figure out the correct meaning.

In my case the last "D" in DILLIGAD is closer in meaning to the famous qoute from "Gone With The Wind"

I FINALLY got my license plates yesterday. Only two days after the temporary expired. I did not get custom plates, honest I did not.

My new "Share the Road" plate reads DEPP.

I feel like I need to change Max's name now- I think he wants to be called "Johnny". What do you all think? I would have to come up with a new theme song for Max.

How about "Pirate" or "Wonka"?

Yeah, I'd take that as a Sign. How about "Jack"?

I made an off the cuff pun using the name "Cooper" and the next thing you know the car is called "D.B.".

So be careful what you say, it might stick.

after purchasing my 03' MC in May of 07' the first problem I encountered was the fuel gauge read empty when full and full when empty, when I took it in to be repaired the service person asked me what the problem was and I replied " the fuel gauge was faulty....at that moment " Basil " was born

My R53's named Evie, after Evie Hammond from "V for Vendetta" and Evie O'Connell from the Mummy movies.

I had no idea what I was going to call my Clubbie until just the other day, when I started thinking about how I would have named it Bumblebee had I been able to order a Clubman S in Mellow Yellow/Black. Since MY/B wasn't an option, I went with Chili Red/Black instead...and that got me thinking back to the good ol' Gen 1 Transformers. One of the Autobots, the first one I ever had in toy form, actually, was basically a red version of Bumblebee, albeit with a more aggressive, Napoleon-complex-type of personality.

Small, feisty, red, AND an obscure Transformers reference? I couldn't turn it down, and so my Clubbie's name is going to be Cliffjumper, or CJ for short.

Fireball

I named my MCSa CR/B Fireball -- after my father in law of all people --- He was a 30 year GM employee, and he is probably rolling in his grave about as fast as Fireball will rev when I get him on the road around the 5th of May -- Anyway, my wife thought it was cute and fitting -- hopefully the the new mini will have all the spit and temperment of the old man himself -- that should make for one hell of a ride....

We're waiting on a production slot so that our order can go in, but we've already (tentatively) named our 2008 MCS Conv:

Sir Wellington WhiteSilver

Wellie (to his friends) is the child of a German father and British mother. Dad married mom for the family name...

He's named a model of home (Wellington) we're selling (we're Realtors) to help pay for his adoption. I keep making little notes on a paper next to my desk, and I think I'm going to write a little bio for Wellie!

I finally came up with a name for my 07 MCS. It's been bugging me for awhile, especially when my wife and kids asked what I was going to call her. I was born in Scotland (my Dad was in the Navy) and I went to high school in Standish, Maine at Bonny Eagle H.S. (home of the Scots). So low and behold she will now be known as "Bonny"

I have a MC lightning blue with black top and stripes on order. My wife wants to name it Bruiser, as in black n blue. Its not bad actually but it seems more appropriate for a MCS or very large pickup truck. Plus I didn't think of it. Maybe I can modify it somehow.

Me (and everyone else who's had a pleasure to make his acquaintance), lovingly refers to my MINI as "Pip"! He's named after the character from Dicken's "Great Expectations" who was British and an orphan that was adopted! Yes, I adopted him from the MINI lot as he sat there night after night in the cold and I love him as much as if I had built him myself...

He's also been bestowed with the last name of "Coupay"...."Pip Coupay". Get it? LOL!

Hi pip333,

What a great story, it's so nice the hear how people have affectionately named their Mini's.

I can't remember the last time a car line such as the Mini Cooper came on the market with owners displaying such love and affection for their cars, it's like adding a new pet to the family, I love it, keep the stories coming

I see there's another "Bruiser"! I named mine Bruiser because of the bull dog stance and he's black and blue like bruises.

Mine is Sally. A friend of mine suggested it, and it just stuck.

My MINI name

His name is Nigel. As in Nigel Mansell. He is BRG and white. Seemed appropriate.

Named my R56 Hiyumi. It is a hybrid name taken from Hitomi Yoshizawa and Sayumi Michishige, my two most favourite members of JPop group Morning Musume. Oh, and Hitomi means "eyes" in Japanese, and with the MINI's headlights, I found it appropos.
