My 2 year old grandson Grant, a huge Cars movie fan saw our Liquid Yellow Mini and without hesitation said, look Luigi!

My MINI name

I've christened my MINI 'Cricket' -- i'ts BRG, black top, all the pkgs, and my plate is 5foot2 (my height). It's supposedly arrived today at Port Hueneme and I hope to collect my baby next weekend. This week will really drag!!

I'm still thinking of a name... and I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet!
But these are the names under consideration.
If it's a boy: Sherman, Clyde, or Wesley (from Princess Bride)
If it's a girl: Helena

Being a big fan of "Family Guy" and being pressured to name the car (I had never named a car before either), I decided to go with "Stewie" for the 05. After getting the 07, and being a fan of Gordon Ramsey, I noticed he called things "flash" meaning "showy" and that seemed right. So the SS is Flash.

I'd never named a car before either, but my MINI told me two things- that I was buying her after I test drove (never knew I'd buy a Chili Red car!) & that her name was Lesley. It fits & has an English ring to it. Funny, though, it has to be that spelling or it isn't right! (I'm so glad other people are in the same situaton!)

gocartride, I think Bluebelle would be just right. Or maybe just Belle.

Hehe... Fezek is a good name too! I'll have to think about that one. Or maybe Inigo Montoya. That would be a good name for a car...

My wife is digging the "Fezek" suggestion. She had to explain it to me.

She has also suggested "Chalk" since it's a Sidewalk. Maybe if we had chosen a white MINI. Dweeby engineering humor on her part I suppose.

If Jet Black had still been an option we might have called it "Nonemore Black"

Our front runners now appear to be "Honey Ryder" and "Sugar Magnolia."

I think BlueBelle is a great name!! Maybe BlueBelle II My mom helped us name her. Our family came from Scotland and when my folks were back there they fell in love with the flower. Also Belle Blue in German means "beautiful blue". After trying a few on her it just seemed to fit ( and I think she likes it )

My husband named his Rita, from the Beatles song 'Lovely Rita' since she drives a Mini Cooper. Also we both love margaritas, and she is green.

For my PW/B, I've always wanted to name it Dangermouse - DM for short - he's a British cartoon character, a spoof on James Bond and other spy movies, and of all colors, off-white. Plus mouse just goes with small. So if it seems like a boy, and it fits, I'll probably go with that. For a girl name I kind of like Sophie. I'll definitely wait til after I get the car to name it.

Our Subaru wagon is just called the Scoobie. My first 'car' was a small pickup truck that my mom had named Midnight Blue. She named all her cars. Never thought too much about car names til the minis came along.

Our first MINI was LY/B with black bonnet strips. Looked like a bumble bee and was dubbed "Bumble" After the hubby got in a nasty accident in her and walked away we bought our PW/B 6 days later and she was named "Bumble's Angel"

Mine is named Siobhan. No particular reason though, I have just always loved that name.

Mine was easy. No particular reason, but since I am naming the new Bully puppy "Shamus", it is just easy to carry the name over...

I don't know about the "Shamus, get in Shamus" statement...

"Emma". I wanted a name that suggested something British and demure with an undertone that there's more there than meets the eye.

I had never named a car before, but when I got my Mini she was just screaming for a name. Driving down A1A with a friend one weekend Gidget came up as a possibility, and I thought it totally fit. She has been driving a lot smoother since she got her name, so I think she likes it.
