Does your MINI have a name?
Crumpter Puller...
One year at Thanksgiving, a British couple were at my uncle's house and commented on one of my uncle's 1960's Jaguar XKE's being a "Crumpet Puller".
Having never heard this term, I asked what it meant... basically it's slang for a car used by a man to get women... (esp. old men going after young, beautiful women). Despite being only 18 and in a relationship for the last two years, it just fits the car. This name may not be permanent however... I go back and forth with Crumpet Puller and Churchill.

Originally, she was to be named Butch, after my youngest daughter, but I decided to re name her Silversmith after a thorough cleaning. Funny, but I was considering blacking out all of the chrome, but decided against it and will be adding more chrome.
I call her Silvie for short!

Winston kinda picked his own name. I had been trying to think what I was going to name my MINI from the day I ordered it, and I just couldn't think of a good name.
Then, when I saw my little guy for the very first time, all shiny and ready to go home with me, Winston just popped into my head. Can't really explain it, but I think it suits him perfectly!

well for me going with a black and white checkered theme, i decided to go with Check because it was subtle, kinda gives a "quick and zippy" sound, and was better than not being original and going with Coop haha (though I soooo badly wanted to after seeing those videos haha)
I like Uma. Or Beatrix. Or Kiddo. But I'm a big fan of the Kill Bill movies, and I hated hated hated Moulin Rouge. Just MHO
I named my 2003 R50 - Lemmy- after the infamous motorhead singer. reason i named it that is because it totally rekindled my love for motoring and pep. the kind of pep you get when you punch the pedal not the kind that lemmy used to enjoy so much.
Named my 07 Shelby Jr. after my husband's 07 Ford Shelby GT500. It's also red with white stripes and just a bite more horse power.
I found it fitting to give his local car club and internet forum something to rib me about
since they couldn't
believe
I was purchasing a Mini
and not
another muscle car.

Wednesday
I heard whispering through the cabin right after the break in miles were done. Its very dark and Gothic. It suits her very well. We do A LOT of quality night driving and she likes the dark. Like true Gothic style she attracts the weirdest cars as well (I had a seibring try to race her). Also i loved the Addams family growing up and I all ways had a thing for Wednesday Addams (Oh my god and when Christina Riccie Played her wow)
my fiance and me both own a mini and we named them both before we got them. we named our pw mini LJ, after ourselves (our first initials) and named my my/b mini Gordon after my favorite driver. both of these names were thought out for a while so its not strange that we all name our cars!
Beezus! (Short for "Beatrice" and the name of a character in a favorite children's book.)
Beezus is an 08 LiB/B MCS, manual, black bonnet stripes, conv, prem, sport, cw packages, pb colorline, Xenon HL, white TS, chrome door mirror and bonnet scoop, leatherette.
Only bad thing is she is a Week 4!
She's not here yet. I WANT BEEZUS!
EDIT: Changed to "Ramona." Same book, different character. Little girl who rides around on a tricycle crashing into things on purpose and blowing a harmonica nonstop. She also hacks her own hair off short and makes boys eat bugs. Girl with Attitude. Sounds right to me...

My Mini's full name is Nigel Messerschmitt. A nice English first name and a German last name. I just went through a bunch of name combinations, and kept coming back to Nigel. Messerschmitt was a German aircraft builder, and I just liked it. :-D It took me some time to realize if my Mini was a boy or girl, but hes all boy :-D I've always named my cars
I started thinking about the name before I even got the MINI. I wanted something Brit sounding, but I did not like names like Gwenyth, Agatha, Gwendolyn. Then one day I was cruising on the 96 Toyata Corolla listening to The Smiths (one of my favorites-hence my screen name) to a song called "Sheila Take A Bow" kinda a song about a good girl turned rebel. And said thats it "SHEILA."
My new GP's name I got was rather a sad story but it was the the last song that was playing when "Sheila died" car was totaled. It was one of "Sheila's favourite songs, here's a sample of lyrics:
"Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.
Just like a river twisting through a dusty land.
And when she shines she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio Rio dances across the Rio Grande.
Hey now, look at that. Did they really chase you down?
At the end of the drive, the lawmen arrive, it makes me feel
alive alive alive"
Yes, its Duran Duran's "Rio", never really listend to lyrics, but kinda appropriate I'd say. Truth is I love this genre (post punk, new wave, new romantics) of music, but never really a fan of DD other than the song "Planet Earth" and their rated X music videos, but it was an appropraite name for GP0019-her name is RIO.
Other names considered:
La Llorona (The Screamer) anytime I'd take father to store he'd call Sheila-Llorona cause S/C whine.
Siouxsie (Suzy) as in The Banshees
Tabatha-Brit sounding (OK, OK and my first love in 6th grade)

My Clubman became OTTO as I configured it. As I emailed my MA about his configuration, it just seemed the right name. I like it forward or backward it is the same. I thought of changing it to Chudleigh after my favorite character in the Jacquie Lawson cards, but OTTO just seemed right. He is Chili red with black roof and stripes and will have dark tinted windows. He is obviously a male car.
If I had ordered the Laser Blue it would have been Angel.
We named my BMW 330Ci convertible Buffy as my husband read that many of the female graduates from Ivy League colleges received that car as a graduation gift from their fathers. Buffy seemed a natural as she is such a classy car. Still only has 5600 miles on her and she just turned 6. She had to make space in the garage for OTTO's arrival in late February.
