Does your MINI have a name?
Our new MCSC SS/B just finished production today (
), so we're still discussing names. I may have to wait until I drive him/her before deciding. However, at this point, my favorite is "Fawkes" (lots of Harry Potter fans in our household). What do you think?
I think I meant the "wild ride" part!
On the other hand, I have a lifelong habit of kissing frogs, so maybe it was the "Mr. Toad" part...
You so silly.
INIMINI
In May 2007, my wife was down to two choices for cars: a red VW Beetle Convertible or a Chili Red Mini Cooper Convertible. She chose the VW Beetle.
She made the wrong choice.
Then in September 2007, my wife wanted a car for her business; she couldn't decide which Mini Cooper to choose. How about INIMINI MINY MOE!
A 2007, Pepper White MCS was born on 9/11. INIMINI (NJ) Plates.

Emma was one of my early ideas. I rejected it deciding that I couldn't name our MINI after any former girlfriends or unrequited love interests.
Of course, one of our front runner name candidates is "Honey Ryder", a James Bond character played in the movie by Ursula Andress. Realistically, I never had a chance with Ursula or Honey, so I guess it's okay.
The other leading candidate is "Sugar Magnolia."
coincidence...?
I named my car "Emma" after Emma Peel from the 60's Avengers show and the Dishwalla song. She looks good and kicks ar$e!
I've named the last couple of my cars... The Beast, Black Lightning and now Emma. There is no rhyme or reason - they just fit.

I love Nigel! I'd consider it if 1.) it wasn't yours and 2.) my mini's a girl. =D
I named my first MINI, an R56 MCS, Ocius, Latin for for quick. With the original now in "trade-in heaven", it seemed like a good idea to let the legacy continue

We are still working on the name, but "Diablito" (Spanish = Little devil, more like little rascal in everyday usage) was one of the first ones that came to mind based on the color scheme (Chilli Red and Black Roof) and the mischievous personality of the MINI Cooper.
Wife really likes "Mr. Darcy" (pronounced the British way... Dawwh-cy : -) from Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" .... more like after Colin Firth in that role ; -) ... but there's no way I'm going for that.

We're going with Bannister. As in Roger, the English man who, on May 6, '54, broke the 4 minute mile. And we'll be getting him a week or two shy of 54 years from that day.
As for my Saturn, given it's an identical dark green one to my in laws' one that I wrecked, the name there was obvious: Inigo [Montoya] "You killed my father. Prepare to die." Waiting on the CA DMV to get me a custom MONTYA[FiveFingerdHandSymbol] plate and then add a plate holder saying "My name is INIGO... ...Prepare to die"

Named it after my favorite super hero's ride... The Batmobile... More specifically, the one in the most recent Batman movie... But historically it works as well because I love gadgets. I've got camera mounts, a pac-swi-x that uses the factory steering wheel to change my aftermarket radio stations, a g-tech pro RR mounted on the window next to a radar detector. Then under the wheel I've got extra power outlets, 4 extra switches and toggles, the factory bank is filled with all the optional toggles... So much to play with, it really is the Batmini!
i originally named mine Alice Cooper, because i always loved the song "schools out for summer"....but saw that a few other people have already named theirs that. and, my car had been trying to tell me that he didnt have an alice cooper sort of personality....i started thinking opposites, and the first thing that popped in my head was,.....Gary Cooper.....
and so....Gary would like you to know that.....he is puttin on the ritz....

I still have not officially named my car. At this point it's still being built so I'm not sure if it's a boy or a girl. I'm running a contest on another forum to help me name my car and I'm getting some strange names but some fun ones as well. I've got a short list but it's difficult to choose without knowing your car yet.
Darcy was the other name that I was thinking about. Also after Mr. Darcy (P & P is my favorite book), but I have always thought the mini would be Lucy and I didn't switch it. Not even for Mr. Darcy.
Current car: 2002 Civic is Doris, after the tourbus in Almost Famous. The line "Doris is the heart and soul of this tour". We take Doris on tour when our friends in a band come to the US from Finland. It just fit.
1999 Saturn was Eleanor, after Eleanor Rigby.
1994 Toyota truck was Jack.

The minute I floored the gas pedal, I wasn't expecting that kind of surge of power, my mini took off and it kind of did that thing Woodstock does when he flys around in loopy circles, so I just knew my mini was a Woodstock, especially since he's the almost exact color of Woodstock

I thought up my name by thinking about the first "S" name i could think of. so I came up with Samantha...it's Alyssa Milano's characters name on "who's the boss." I had a major crush on her growing up.
