Hello all!

I'm new here but have been "peering" at your forums for some time now. I finally ordered my very first MINI, 08 MC PW/PW due for production on June 6th and ETA on July 18th. After 5 years of admiring the beauty, finally decided it's time to get a new one, and a MINI for that matter. I've already decided on PW/PW but too many distractors suggested PW/B. Looking at you proud owners of the PW/PW helped reinforce my first choice!

Aaah the wait is killing me! How did you guys handle it?!

 

Welcome to the club! The wait is horrible but definately worth it. The many calls to MINI and postings on NAM will hold you over for now.

 

Haha thanks! You're absolutely right. I wanted to wait 'til I get my MINI to join here but I remembered that I have some [if not a lot] of questions in my mind that I wanted to ask here before it arrives..

Any additions you have done after you got it from the dealership?

Mine's basically standard rims for now, decided I'd get the aftermarket rims down the road...

Oh since I'm already here, whom do I request #1982 for my number?

 

Thanks Peaches. I did in fact get the Redwood Red. It looks so good in person. It is a very rich, lush, and striking color. I get a lot of compliments!

So I think the only other people around here that has the PW/PW are Scoopmama, Peaches611, and Drummergirl eh? Looks like we ladies are all attracted to the oh-so-sophisticated look! WAY TO GO!!!

 

We've had our PW/PW since Feb 2003. I had to convince my wife it at first, but after seeing it, she was convinced. Now if you could only get the rear trim on the Clubman in PW....

 

Another PW/PW is owned by agranger on the board. He even had his wheel arches painted PW, which is what I'd like to do eventually. Yes, very sophisticated and understated---in a good way!

 

Where's the most up to date list of numbers? My PW/PW with black trim Cooper Clubman show as "on order" in the owners lounge. Do I need to wait until I take delivery to select my number here? If #5555 is available I'd opt for that.

So when is yours arriving? Reading your specs, it seems you'll have one heckuva of a cool MINI!

I was told mine will be around the 18th of July.......

 

My MINI went a little squirrely, missed the boat, and sat at the port for over 10 days! Based on my MA's best guess, I'm looking at mid-June for delivery. I know the wait will be worth it, but it's definitely been hard. This board has helped me tons!

So what made you choose that color? I actually had Lightning Blue as my first choice, but then my mom [yes, my mom] saw the lighter colors and suggested either Sparkling Silver or Pepperwhite. And sure enough, I thought PW was so elegant that the rest is history! Plus, I always see the darker colors here in OC so it kind of made me want to be different.

10 DAYS! THAT'S CRAZY!! So would you say it took 60 days all in all since you ordered it, or more? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and it's been the sloooowest 2 weeks ever..!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I was initially just "peering" at the forums [which my brother found for me] and I got hooked! Thought I'd sign up when my MINI gets here but then I realized that it's nice to be able to talk to fellow PW enthusiasts while waiting. Makes the wait more bearable don't you think?

 

PW is classic. Ours has a red tartan interior. My dad had a '62 PW with red interior as a commuter car (bought new..). PW/PW was my first choice, but until we saw the paint in real life, we weren't sure.

 

I ordered 4/19/08, and my MA is estimating delivery around 6/15, so, yeah, about two months. He was upfront about it, though, and told me to expect around 8 weeks from the get-go.

I feel really good that my only "issue" in life right now is wondering when I'll get my MINI. I was really whining while "he" was sitting at the port, but when I think about it, what a great problem to have!

 

The way we handled it was to go out one day and drive a Mini home from the dealer.

What a good attitude! You are so right, how lucky we all are that some of our only worries are little things pertaining to our MINI.

Although I am glad to have mine now, I must say I kind of miss the former days of chatting with the Isolde crew and logging all the milestones on my calendar.

 

To my knowledge Post #1 is the most current list. As you might note that number is already spoken for by skogarr. Sorry, do you have another choice?

In an effort to keep this stuff together, I'll try to compile the requests since BoCRon last posted. That'll make it easier when they get back.

Japic, thanks for sweeping up all of the outstanding requests! Much appreciated. This will certainly help all of the enthusiastic new Peerage members from feeling disenfranchised due to lack of reply to their initial requests.

It'd be great if there was a way that Annette could give you sufficient permission to edit the Post #1 "master" list... We could be a lot more responsive to the eager PW masses.

 

...doing that calendar thing right now hahaha!
