The Peerage of the Pepper White
Check out Octane Guy. . . he is a detailer on NAM, and is in Placentia. He should have some good, reliable contacts!
Hey Sherri, welcome to NAM!
I think you deserve some sort of special recognition from the Peerage for making your inaugural NAM post in this thread...you are obviously smitten with PW/B in a most severe way!

I agree, J_D has one fine looking MINI.

Thanks for the hello! I hadn't even thought of the fact that my inaugural post was in a color specific thread. Good point! To make it even more special, I have been peering since the summer of las year (although very intermittently) and have beefed up my presence in the past few weeks. I actually test drove a car Sunday! I think I am in love.
I have always had blue cars and currently own a 2003 Honda Element (my other favorite car in the world) and it is blue. Going for a white car is a huge change for me but I think they really stand out from the crowd in the Pepper White. Apparently they are a bit unusual too. I live int eh SF Bay area and there are TONS of minis here. Both of the silver shades seem to be the most popular and while I like the dark silver, I want something that doesn't look like everyone else's. Perhaps as a nice omen today, I was behind a PP white on my way to work. Oh so cute!
I configured a Cooper S hardtop with Redwood Red seats, JCW aero kit, JCW 18in wheels ($2995) warranties at about $2500, the car totaled 40,009! That was a bit more than I bargained for. I am awaiting my financing info and mulling the idea. I am also reconfiguring the car a bit (especially since I may opt for an aftermarket aero kit and wheels) to bring the price down. In any case, I see that there are soooo many options for aesthetics. In fact, up until I saw JD's car, I assumed I wanted a black roof, now I don't know...
Kind regards,
Sherri

Our Pepper white baby is finally home, I have some crappy phone pictures up in my gallery now. Want to get some better ones, but it rained today and now he is all wet and dirty...well I think it might be a he anyway, trying to decide on a name.
Ok all, give a Welcome to bitharvest, corin.mcblide and Captain Jason. We have one other, but I'm waiting to hear back with the specific request.
Also, everyone please go check out Thompson's cafepress page of PW stuff. He's the originator of our badge and now has it available on shirts, hats, mugs... I've requested window decals or magnetic badges so hopefully he'll be able to see fit to add those time permitting.http://www.cafepress.com/kewlpwoc

I am joining the ranks!!!!!

Only problem is I can't think up a good name. I tried a couple but she doesn't like any of them.
P.S. I love my wheels...
2008 PW MCSa premium, cold weather, fog pkg, BT/ipod, and more
thinking of getting stripes.. not sure

I posted this on the more general forum, but thought I would list it in our special Pepper White forum as well. Hope that's ok. I don't know all the forum etiquette yet, but am happy to learn. Anyway, here is what I said:
I woke up this morning ready to go to the gym and decided to look at the MINI site one more time. That, combined with my financing coming through at a good rate, pushed me over the edge. I hopped in my Honda Element and drove like a bat out of you-know-where to the MINI dealer. I left with a deposit receipt in my had, a smile on my face, and an eight week wait for my new dream car.
Here are some details:
2008 MCS in Pepper White with Pepper White roof
JCW carbon fiber hood scoop
18inch JCW R105 wheels
Redwood Red leather interior
Piano black dash
DSC and LSD
Xenon headlamps
Rear fog lamps
Chrome line interior
Leather multifunction steering wheel
Hi Fi sound system
Bluetooth/iPod adapter
MINI cooper S illuminated sills
wheel locks
alarm
Total configuration price of $31,059 but aprox $410 extra for installation of acessories. East Bay MINI in Pleasanton, CA (the Bay area) sells cars at MSRP and as you know there isn't much chance of a discount. However, I told my MA that I wanted it for the price listed and asked for the installation waived to which he replied "so you want a discount"? I said I would put a deposit down today and get that car if he agreed. Well, after he took a couple trips back and forth to check with some folks, he shook my hand and said congrats on being a new MINI owner! So I am pretty excited and now have to wait eight weeks for delivery.
The only thing now is that I wonder if I will want JCW carbon fiber side mirrors to balance out the car. I think that may be sharp with the all white and carbon fiber hood scoop. In fact, I may consider the JCW carbon fiber hatch handle too. I think those few dark touches will be quite a nice contrast on the all white car, yet still be a "cleaner" look than sport stripes.
I also plan on tinting all the windows darker (esp rear ones) so that will make the "midsection" of the car look black. SO I figure it will be (from the top) white, black, white, black-if you catch my logic.
Ok, now that I have been a total geek, I want to say hi to everyone. Hi!

p.s. Isn't it great to have a forum where we can wax poetic about our cars and people understand?

(Don't worry about how obsessed you get. . . I was more upset about how long the 8 weeks felt for my MINI - also PW/PW BTW - than I was over the last 8 weeks of being pregnant!
What can I say. . . Scoop doesn't sulk or talk back!!
)
Thanks for the encouragement!
I am anxious to receive it and am just trying not to think about the eight weeks. The extra tough part is that my b-day is May 20th, which is shy of the due date (eight weeks from today is may 29th). I am hoping and praying it gets here in time for a birthday present. Otherwise I will consider it a belated birthday gift. Either way I know I will be surfing the web for all the MINI info I can find, posting to this site, and pulling my hair out. Ok, so that last part wasn't true (since I value my hair) but the rest is.
By the way, I looked at your gallery and love your car. Could you post more close up pics when you have the chance? I would love to see a rear shot too. I had the chrome line exterior on while I was configuring at the dealer, then he made the fatal mistake of showing me the carbon fiber. It was love! Still not sure if I will choose chrome mirror caps, carbon fiber mirrors, or leave white. I figure I can always make those types of mods later.
I must say I debated over my wheels for a while. It is so much cheaper to a) stick with 16inch
b) buy aftermarket
But I just couldn't get past how hot I think they will look when I pick my baby up, and I just figured the extra expense was my indulgent gift to myself. When I brought my Honda Element I ordered a stripped down base model. I told myself then that if I ever got a MINI it would be the opposite. With leather seats and 18inch jCW wheels, I think I fulfilled my luxury desires!

Thank you, Crossrap!!
I can see why people get more than one MINI. . . the PW is SOOOOO classy, but yellow with black bonnet stripes and a checkered roof was the other option I kept thinking of. Maybe someday. . . Then there is the gorgeous British Racing Green. . . !!!
When I get a few more pictures, I'll post 'em! Been too busy driving, and don't want to stop to take pictures. Shame on me!

CONGRATS CROSSRAP!
Your MINI should get here in no time for your birthday. I have to wait 3 years for mine. My wife's MINI is slowly taking shape. 16" Wheels are next for the summer. My wife's wish list is Black with red lip.
A funny thing happened in Feb. the wife decided to get a new car and opted for a nfr clubman. Having driven it a couple of times (mostly while she was in bed sleeping and I could sneak it out), I decided that it was time to get one as well.
So let me introduce to you.... the one with the pepper white sheen

Inimini, I love your bonnet stripes on your pw. Where did you have that done. Im waiting on a new pw sidewalk and would prefer to put that pattern on it
