Several additions can be done to your car at the VDC when she reaches American shores. I would find out from your MA (hassle them if you have to , call different dealerships and confirm), if you can have the lamps installed there or if they have to be done at the dealership. I think the dealership would rather have the $$$ than let the VDC do that work.

Thanks Russel. I am getting stripes put on too. I just got them in the mail today, and need to install. I think I am going to have them done professionally because it will be easier.

My MCS PW/B went into production today, which is week 24, and just happens to be my lucky number. I should have her by mid-july and will post real pics in due time.
Could I be #2408 of the Peerage? That would be by MINI's birthweek.
As of now, my MINI is sans stripes but I would like to add sport stripes. My original plan was to have the dealer install sport stripes, but their quote seemed exorbitantly high: $585. Is this typical? Could I get the same or similar stripes installed for a lower price somewhere else? Looking at the photos on this thread, I like the sport stripes that have a second thin line on the lateral edge and might prefer those to the singe sport stripes. Any suggestions?

I decided to get Sport Stripes as well and they charged me $190 total for the installation because they told me after they unload the MINIs to the VDC, that's where they'll do it. I thought that was expensive already but I asked around here and that's about the same quote they got. So the price they gave you is high!

I will bring up that quote of $190 which other people seem to be getting and see if the dealer is willing to come down on the price. My dealership is MINI of Manhattan in NYC, so I understand they probably have higher overhead costs and such, but still I don't see how they came up with the $585 number.

Yeah, that's almost triple what an install should cost. You can get them from Aesthetic Creations and do the install yourself. It's surprisingly easy.
