Hello my little friends, how are you today?
I'm great, but I'm getting really tired of this AZ heat!!!
I have thought about moving to Austin, TX before. Anyone here live there?

Greg

If you're going to move to get away from the heat, why Austin, TX ? You have days there that are extremely hot and also humid. Would make you think AZ is not so bad after all.

If you want to go somewhere there's not much heat, go the other direction, San Diego. Or, if you're not adverse to some clouds and rain, Seattle.

If life takes me somewhere far away again, those two places would be on the top of my list. Never hot. Never cold. Sweet.

Thanks. I see what you're saying. I wish I could afford to live in SD. Seattle maybe. That has crossed my mind before.

I live in Seattle

You would love our maritime climate... Cool and for 8.5 months out of the year, wet and soggy. You either learn to love the gloomy gray skies, or you'll be wishing you'd have moved to Austin! One thing that you would love, is all of the twisted roads, along the Cascade range....

someone I know used to live there, she hated the "clouds being on your forehead every day" but sounds great to me lol. I would love to move there but just dread moving across the country from it being a pain in the butt.

May I have your permission to PM you for the best cities to live in?

Thanks,

Greg

Places I'd move to (or back to):

Northwest (mmm...beer)
Golden, Colorado (I'd love to tool around in my CM on some mountain road switchbacks)
UK (some sweet narrow twisties)

That's a pretty good list, 01. I spent some time in the Denver and Boulder, CO, areas and it's gorgeous there.

And I'd love to spend a few more years in Europe, having lived there for 7 years during two separate tours of duty. Sure would love to have my JCW on the Autobahns for a while <<drool>>. Not to mention all the great twisty secondary and tertiary roads.

Went to college in Golden and had plenty of friends that lived just inside the front range - it'd be way more fun to drive in a CM than my 1988 Accord.

My parents moved to an area just outside London last year and going to visit earlier this year was pretty sweet. Took my dad to Oxford for a tour and really lit the fire for a MINI. It'd be awesome to drive some of those "B" roads, barely big enough for two bikes to pass. Although I didn't get to do any of the driving, my dad enjoys dropping the hammer from time to time in his bimmer.

CR - you're a big Philly sports fan, right? Thoughts on Charlie being let go? I was pretty disappointed; would have much rather seen Ruben get the boot.

Couldn't agree more. Charlie deserved more respect than being let go in August of a wasted season. I'd been much happier had Amaro been the one fired.

Looking forward to the start of the football season. The Eagles may not win a bunch of games but damn, buckle your seat belt, the offense is going to be exciting. I foresee a lot of 42-35 games, and such.

You'll love it. I think the exterior JCW package makes an incredible difference in the appearance of MINIs.

I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to do for 5-6 hours on Saturday while my CM gets a clear bra out on. Anyone want to come hang out in Reisterstown, MD?

Also still messing around with my desired stripes...almost considering not getting them because I'm sick of the headache this has become.

I'd hang out with you but we're going on a Crab Cruise down the bay that day. Cruise... beer... crabs....

By the way, 01... there is a TGIFriday's within EASY walking distance of the dealership. You can easily spend an hour in there, two if you keep ordering drinks. And if you ask, they'll give you a loaner and you can skip on down to the Inner Harbor or anywhere you'd like to visit in Baltimore.
