Nope. I may do at 3,000 miles. Which means maybe next week.

Sounds about right, Greg. Thinking if I do it too fast, then the free one is going to be about 8,000 miles from that one. Might want to wait just a bit past 2,000. Then after that, I plan to pay for one about half way between the free ones.

Because BMW/MINI only have to worry about the motor for the period of the warranty. I have to worry about it for many years after that. And I've never believed it's okay to leave the break in oil in for 10-15K miles.

And I don't believe in 10K miles between changes, will be paying for the oil changes I have done half way between the free ones.

Price of oil changes every year or so... well worth the peace of mind to me !

I'm not going to specifically swap out the factory oil, but I am going to changed the oil every 5k miles, so i will have to pay for every other one....

I have had several 100k miles+ people tell me to change the oil/filter every 5k, run the motor like it should be(i.e., HARD), and they will last a very long time...

And I agree with you regarding cost....my Mini dealer charges $90 for syn oil and filter change....well worth it to me...the supplies alone would cost me around $60, so I am paying $35 labor....well worth the price.

That is pretty cool, Greg. But how do you feel now that your MINI is more famous than you ?

This movie ?

Two Mississippi teens, Ellis and Neckbone, meet a mysterious drifter named Mud hiding on a deserted river island and get caught up in his tangled web of tall tales about bounty hunters, crimes of passion, lost love and a perfect woman named Juniper.

Cast:Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon,

Yeah, it's on Netflix, as is just about every movie known to man and beast.

Yup. Sorry, I meant Netflix streaming. I forget some people still use their DVD service too.

It's not even close to all the movies I've seen but on Netflix, I have rated 1,418 movies.

I don't pay much attention to the ratings. People's taste in movies can be pretty strange. Or maybe mine is.
