Official MINI DRLs Fitted
One of the coolest parts is when you pull up behind someone and you see a pair of eyes staring back at you in the reflection of their bumper
Yeah, suddenly that universal fashion for black cars here seems quite useful.
Turning them off
Here's a new reason to get them, they use 80% less energy than using your Xenons as DRLs

I know it may be a little silly, but I ask myself if I would miss that.
Thanks!
I am also very unique now. Other mini drivers will think, " Holy crap, that looks amazing, I want that look".
For sure my MA and service advisor were speechless and just said, " Why aren't those available in the US yet?"
Hi ed, I really don't. I love the look of these. I feel that my car is more noticed on the road. People see me coming now. I don't feel invisible.

Definitely got me wanting them more now.

Yes, they fit a Countryman.. I know because I referred someone here on the board to my mechanic who fit them.
This is interesting. DRLs have been mandatory on all new cars in Canada since 1990. For 20+ years I have been explaining the benefits (primarily to Americans) of having them - not to mention the inevitable "hey, did you know your headlights are on?" every time I travelled in the States. I have had countless people (in Canada and outside) ask me if I know how to disable their DRLs (I used to work at the company that manufactured the DRL control modules for GM).
Now, put the DRL in the shape of a ring instead of using the actual headlamp bulb, and they are cool. Interesting.

Just wondering, with these on, do you absolutely have to disable the original Headlights DRL? I am from Canada and I don't think I could disable the original DRL cuz it's required here in Canada. Maybe the dealer could disable it with their tools?
Now that DRLs are compulsory on new cars here, the one group of drivers that do want to switch them off is the police in unmarked cars - apparently they have the problem that they can't run the engine to make the heater work without advertising their presence by the DRLs coming on.
So perhaps I should say: unless you are in the police, I can't see why you'd want to turn the DRLs off.
Yes you do.
I have read that you can enable/disable the DRL from your tach OBC settings from the manual that came with the car. But I never found such setting in my car, so my guess is, since Canada requires DRL by law, they must have disabled this setting from factory. So maybe the dealer is the only one who could do it.

What should work is changing the country coding for the car with NCS Expert. Not sure if anyone can confirm at this point.
I remember this being addressed somewhere before. From what I recall, laws being laws, you cannot turn off the DRL feature on a Canadian car. Chances of getting a dealer to do it are also slim to none.
