Do Mini people still wave at each other??
saw this one near road america:

and to answer the op, yes. We get waves quite frequently, as well as high beam flashes and honks. Nobody does that in a focus, really. Except when the new generation was an uncommon sight, but now nobody who has one cares. I think mini people around here tend to be a bit more fun people on average.

I waved at a pepper white Mini on jan 8th and he sure was looking at me in confused do i know you you happen to be in a mini way lol. And a honked the horn at someone who was on the side of the highway... Very common for people to be there so i doubt he/she was stranded so im doing my part
I think the Harley folks are particularly attuned to waving, and not just to each other. We've often been acknowledged in both our MINI and our classic '64 Porsche.
Harley Rider Waves
I'm glad to hear you are seeing waves from Harley Riders. As one myself, I have a happy respect for any "cool" or "image-promoting" vehicle... anything out-of-the-ordinary sparks notice and a sense of the driver's (usually) personal involvement with their vehicle. (You will likely never see a biker wave at a Toyota Camry, sorry!). hahahahahaha.
I am one to give thumbs up to british sports cars, classic muscle cars, and older bikes of all types that have withstood the test of time, or have a "coolness factor" of their own.
I have had little luck getting anyone to wave back at me in my mini here in Cedar Rapids... I just must keep seeing the "exceptions to the rule" about "mini cooper personal-involvement factor". I know some people are afraid to wave in fear of triggering some negative action, but for 99.999% of society, I can't really see being friendly causing an adverse reaction.
Anyway, Harleys and Mini Coopers ROCK.

I don't drive a MINI yet; I'm in "on order" purgatory. The day I placed my order, I was so excited. On the drive home I pulled up to a red MCS and waved enthusiastically with a big grin on my face. The driver looked amused and gave a short wave back. As he pulled away I realized all he saw was a random guy in a Honda Civic.

Ok I feel like a TOTAL IDIOT. :( I was on my way home from Walgreens when I spot a mini cooper and I'm all like should I wave? .. Then I was like well I should give it a try. (Since I had given up) and when I'm passing it I wave and honk I felt so stupid they didn't even look my way while EVERYONE ELSE DID.! Ugh. did I me ruin I had my top down :/
The past few weeks have been "profitable". I even got a wave from a passenger in a highway maintenance truck! Either he likes MINI's or redheads, made this old lady smile
did a little Italian Job driving with a red one up 355. I was misfiring on one cylinder and my clutch is slipping along with needing a brake job so I didn't push too hard but it was still fun
And no, we never went over the limit

I'm in the middle of moving, and right now my MINI is sitting in a lonely garage in central Arkansas. Naturally, while driving my Bimmer the other day, I saw 2 lovely MINIs who would otherwise merit a wave. I didn't figure it was worth confusing them, though.
We will be reunited on Thursday, January 31. I can't wait!

Yup--I've been "in" since I took delivery almost 6 years ago! My husband thinks I'm nuts. He's probably right, but I figure it's a good kind of nuts. I don't see waving MINI owners shooting up schools and theatres.
I'm In, Got a wave today and one on Friday. My wife laughs at me when I wave, but she never laughed at me when I waved when I was riding a motorcycle......HMMMMMMM, I too think its a good kind of nuts, hopefully it isn't the kind that allot of people are allergic to.
Ok after my last post I went to Walmart. I saw two Mini's, got two waves, parked and there was a guy filling his "S" and talked to him, I said I owned one too, and he said the white one over there? and I said yes. (He had noticed the car even though it wasn't in his row and about five cars down from him), I drove out towards the other side of the parking lot and there was another Mini leaving, she didn't return my wave, but when I parked at the next store, there was another Mini, and I spoke to the owner there as well........all within 20 minutes and all within 2 miles. Good day for Mini and Waves!!!!!!
