Do Mini people still wave at each other??
Ok after my last post I went to Walmart. I saw two Mini's, got two waves, parked and there was a guy filling his "S" and talked to him, I said I owned one too, and he said the white one over there? and I said yes. (He had noticed the car even though it wasn't in his row and about five cars down from him), I drove out towards the other side of the parking lot and there was another Mini leaving, she didn't return my wave, but when I parked at the next store, there was another Mini, and I spoke to the owner there as well........all within 20 minutes and all within 2 miles. Good day for Mini and Waves!!!!!!

Got a nice wave and headlight flash from a newer Pepper White justa yesterday in Upstate, SC and then from this woman in a ~'12 Chili Red Justa with checkered mirror caps (as captured by GoPro). Yes, there are 3 MINIs in this picture.

I have driven jeeps for years and I notice that the people that wave are typically those with some type of mods on them.
Is this the same for Mini's I expect my baby by the end of February and plan on keeping up the tradition!!!

I added custom side stripes to mine since the photo below was taken.
Not only do I wave at most other drivers, but sometimes when I'm in a parking lot and I know my car will be parked there for a while, I'll leave it next to another mini with a sticky note on their window about how cute their car is
Thank God. I felt bad at the thought of the poor MINI glugging Murphy Walmart fuel.
Well, we have a bone stock Justa Clubbie and the woman who unfortunately calls it hers (I wanted it first) is still prone to wave, flash, or honk at other Minis. Around here, I actually find guys driving Minis being less likely to wave.
Central philly? I just went over there last week and seen 3 minis in one parking garage i was super excited. But of course no mini owner was present, no i didnt get to wave
I wave at the empty cars. Yes I'm a dork. I think around DC people are driving for their lives so they don't look left/right/make eye contact. So no waves lately.
I'm glad to hear you are seeing waves from Harley Riders. As one myself, I have a happy respect for any "cool" or "image-promoting" vehicle... anything out-of-the-ordinary sparks notice and a sense of the driver's (usually) personal involvement with their vehicle. (You will likely never see a biker wave at a Toyota Camry, sorry!). hahahahahaha.
I am one to give thumbs up to british sports cars, classic muscle cars, and older bikes of all types that have withstood the test of time, or have a "coolness factor" of their own.
I have had little luck getting anyone to wave back at me in my mini here in Cedar Rapids... I just must keep seeing the "exceptions to the rule" about "mini cooper personal-involvement factor". I know some people are afraid to wave in fear of triggering some negative action, but for 99.999% of society, I can't really see being friendly causing an adverse reaction.
Anyway, Harleys and Mini Coopers ROCK.

Saw two MINIs today but no wave. It was funny because I hadn't told hubby about my "waving plan" and he actually told me to make sure to wave.... Then when they didn't wave back he said, "it's ok, you have to teach them." Hah, cute! Yay, hubby is on board with the wave :D
Great idea, Nadia!
I'm all for sharing cards like this with the MINIs I see regularly every day. Each regional group could have their info on it, the main NAM info, and the back could be dedicated to MINI-etiquette.
I know many don't like them but I would happily buy a sticker for my car! Maybe a little mini shaped sticker with NAM VA and a waving hand.
I've been waiving for 2 years but most of the time the other Mini driver is not even looking my way ...............
The other driver usually has a death grip on the steering wheel and eyes glued straight ahead.
I mean come on, its not a race car ! ! ! Your driving on the street .............

I beg to differ. A woman down the block from me has a cooper base. We botch were on the phone and made eye contact in my rear view. We both hung up our phones and gunned it when the light turned green. Poor non S but she was a good sport.
