I have been getting a lot fewer waves lately. Maybe its a combination of the dark windows and the crummy weather that's makes my waves unnoticable.

 

I do the same thing! I think of it as my way of saying hi to the other MINI

I finally got my first waves back the other day! 2 waves in one day! I was so thrilled. Is it pathetic that we need a wave from other people to feel validated?

 

I'm parking by other MINIs as well.

 

I like pulling beside or behind another mini at traffic lights and looking at the other non-mini drivers looking at both of us.

 

Exactly what i do

 

On my commute home saw 2 MINI's. The first one, a beautiful laser, or electric blue with great Union Jack accessories, I waved and got one back. The second one was black, I waved, but he couldn't...talking on cell phone

 

YAY!

You are right, if I don't get a wave back I feel so dejected

I parked next to another Mini at my Mall and took photos of them playing nicely together...we are an interesting bunch...

 

I got my first wave yesterday from a bright pink MINI.

First day in the MINI and so far Im about 0-for-10. :( I'll keep trying though, gotta keep it going.

 

Commuting yesterday saw one, waved, got one in return. Saw one today and got a big smile, and wave!

Just bought my first MINI on Monday and I've already gotten two waves.

I don't think it's just the Mini's that are losing their waves. We drive a Saab currently (I'm a lurker here, I don't have my Mini yet) and I still consider them to be a rare car here in the 'burgh (Pittsburgh). Well, we were sitting in rush hour traffic after a Pirates game last week and there was a convertible Saab beside me and I waved and he looked and didn't wave back, I even said nice car and there was no response. Oh well. I keep trying!

We have met some nice drivers, once we were parking and a Saab drove by and rolled down his window and asked where we get our Saab serviced because he was getting tired of going to the only dealer in the greater Pittsburgh area, we unfortunately told him we go to the same place because there isn't any other option (there is now, but not at the time).

I'm hoping people will be kinder when I get my mini! I'll wave back! =)

 

I live in an area(Annapolis Maryland)where their is a local dealership and quite a few MINI's around,so its not a unique car here. But I keep on waving

 

I still wave at other Minis, I rarely get a wave back but it doesn't discourage me from waving.

I drive a school bus for a living and we wave at other school buses so it's habit to wave.

 

I wave at school buses too! They always wave back.

I wave, and when the other driver sees me they sometimes wave back. Sometimes to they look like they are thinking "who the hell is that nut!?"

stuck my whole arm out the window at a countryman the other day, nothing back, I think they were distracted by mickey mouse.

 

Waved at several folks over the past couple of days. No response.
