Do Mini people still wave at each other??
I see so many MINIs in Charleston it's just a game to get people to wave. I must see 6-10 a day just on my 2.5 mile commute to and from. I drive with the windows down so there's no excuse for them not noticing my waves. I demand their participation.
Saw this beauty off the battery tonight. That's our state flag symbols on the side.
Wasn't this debunked a long time ago?

Not saying it doesn't happen but...I've never heard of it happening personally.

We sold our 68 Mustang last fall and always gave and received waves with other classic Stang owners when we were out and about.
We test drove a Countryman a couple of weeks ago and passed another Mini on the road. We decided to give it a try, not knowing about the Mini wave, and happily received one back! Loved it!!
Hope it continues when we're driving our own next month!!

I feel I am on a one man mission to save the wave. My job requires a bit of bopping around on some days, and just driving around DC on the daily, I know I can count on at least 5 MINIs. . .coupled with the commute, it isn't un-common to see 10 in a day, and maybe 1 wave, 2 IF I am lucky. I figure the hell with it, I am going to wave, and hopefully people at least see it(whether they reply)and think to wave the next time.
I was stopped at an intersection a few weeks ago, it was getting dark out, but still light enough for me to see that there was a mini going through the light on the other side of the intersection. I put my hand up, as did the girl driving it, she must have been really excited to get another waive because i actually saw her clap and smile right after she passed me and drove on
I always throw a wave up out here in Cali. I see like 5 or 6 a day and no one really waves back, so I've made it my mission to bring it back here. One of the best ones I've got was from another MCS owner who passed me at a light, we both waved, and he revved to what sounded like 5K
I'm in Cali but for some reason I only see a few Mini's when I'm driving. I've gotten 5 waves back since I've had the car last year. I still wave and hope they wave back...btw, I got a nod with a smile last night from
a R53 so I'll take it and count it as number 6

This morning a Ford sedan pulled up beside me at a red light and the two childern in the back seat gave a big wave and a toothy smile!
Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone waves back at you, a lot of times the window tint and sun angle makes it impossible to see inside another car.

I always wave , usually try to stick my hand out the window so people notice. My boyfriend waves in his MINI too or flashes the lights . . .he also waves at night, I've tried telling him this does no goo, no one can see you. But me telling him has done no good either, lol.
I noticed what may be a trend today: I get waves from people that also have personalized, MINI related license plates. Obviously more into the MINI love than those that just got the car because it was "cute", or a "good city car".
You know, that makes sense. My MA really jumped through hoops to get me the car of my dreams. He really went above and beyond while I had given up. He commented that he really enjoyed getting the right car for people who loved the Mini as much as he did. He said that most people just look at cars as transportation, period. A way to get from point A to point B.
I thought it was typical salesman BS but with what you said? I guess he was right.

What an awesome commute to work I had today!
Part way to work, one of my favorite songs came on the radio, saw an approaching Mini, and started enthusiastically waving, got a good one back with a smile. Then a Countryman zipped past me, without me realizing it was a Mini. I still cant recognize them head on, due to their larger size. I think the driver lifted her hand off the wheel, but hesitated as I didn't respond...sorry! then I witnessed the Metlife blimp landing at the Frederick, Md. Airport...soooo coooool!
Where I motor I typically see very few MINI's, maybe 1 a week, if that, but my percentage of wave backs is pretty good, considering. I guess if you live in an area where there are very few MINI's, those of us who do have one bond together in our "specialness"
..just sayin..

Getting ready to do my first run with them, they sound like a great group. Look them up on Meet-up.com under C3M!!
Wow, a great MINI day!! I rarely see other Mini's during my commute, but today was AWESOME. 2 waves this morning, and tonight coming home spotted a beautiful yellow MINI with white stripes and roof and got ANOTHER enthusiastic wave!! It STILL makes my day!!
Keep on waving, MINI drivers!!

I find, especially around here, that people are too busy talking on their cell phone to wave. A lot of the MINIs around here seem to be mostly commuter MINIs. I think I average about 30% with the waves.
