True that. I personally think MINI would've possibly been much more potent had they been purchased by VW, as opposed to BMW. Surely we'd have a Quattro Cooper by now..

I don't hate any thing about my two but there are annoying aspects to them both - all covered here. On Run Flat Repairs: The reason some deals wont fix them is because they dont know how far you have driven on them. They only have a limited safe run flat distance.

How can such a big car company like BMW make so many Mini's and not admit to it having problems.

The newer models have just as many faults if not more than the 1st generation models.

What I hate the most is BMW not fixing the problems they know are items that should be recalled and repaired.

Power Steering, Auto Transmission, CVT Transmission, Leaking Gaskets, Leaking Hoses, Cooling Fans, Electricial Problems, and the list just keeps growing & nothing is being addressed ! ! ! ! ! !

Man Up BMW, and fix our cars we purchased based on your past history as a great car maker . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . its not looking too good right now !

Seats and Wheel

The vinyl seats don't breathe (I'd prefer nice fabric). The 9-and-3 position on the steering wheel is awkward for me b/c the "control sections" of the wheel get in the way.

1. buy these! http://www.ebay.com/itm/400263922363...84.m1436.l2649
2. wash the mini!
3. you may have an issue there. mine pop on, both front or rear when using the washers.
4. they have those little light bending stickers. or, ive learned to look at my dashboard (at least at night) to see red / green light.

also, are the new beetles really RWD?

I've only had my 2012 a couple of weeks, but so far the most annoying thing is how the radio switches from std reception to HD radio and if the station's signals aren't synced up it's like hitting a 5 second rewind and the volume gets lower.

That's very vague and ambiguous, but are you trying to say an RWD MINI would not be fun? That would be my dream car!

The worst thing about a MINI is the dealer network.

lol. Agreed.

In addition to that...

- I hate the turn signals. Simple up-down would have been fine. After 3 weeks of owning the car, I still signal left when I'm trying to cancel right, and vice versa.

- I hate the wipers. They rarely move at the speed I need them to.

- I don't hate this, but I don't get why the "mood lights" can go from orange to blue, but it doesn't also change the dash display color. That would have been pretty awesome.

FWD is essential to MINIosity. As is rear-engined RWD to Porsche 911, and should be to a Beetle; or front-engine RWD to a Mustang or my Miata.

A car that looked like a MINI and was RWD would have a weight distribution like my Tacoma, good for drifting but not handling. Unless, of course, you dumped the engine in the back seat. In either case, no longer a MINI.

If RWD was that important to you, you should have bought something else.

Can't believe we're reading a post defending FWD over RWD.... But yea like I said, I would like to see a QUATTRO Mini, hence my VW statement made earlier.
