What You Hate Most about Your Mini???
Actually, some stuff, mainly the expense of maintaining it. For example, I wish it used regular coolant and used normal screws or bolts (or even allen heads) instead of torx.
Stuff like the crappy oil pan gasket really bug me. The rattles used to bother me, but I always have the radio on, so it's not a big deal.

I've got a 2010 MCS and I'm hating the hop.
Happy to see there's a couple tech threads regarding this issue, but it seems that one fix leads to another type of problem and I don't want to end up hating a vibration...

Not hate but...The Audio/Volume and Audio/Selection ***** should be different. I keep pressing the wrong one. Also the HVAC wheels should be changed....not crazy bout them. I'm just nit picking and think small changes would be a big improvement.
BUT I do hate the fact the dealers are a good distance from me for service. That is a PITA.

Not exactly a hate, but a SERIOUS annoyance!!! I also wish the stereo would remember the last selected volume level.

I hate the lack of quality in certain areas, mushrooming towers, oil pan gasket, thermostat gasket, engine mount leaks ... (there's more) ... I'd expect better form BMW.
I hate the glove box design. Most of the space is not usable becuase stuff falls out when you open it. (Mine is a 2006 MCS)

I hate backing up. The visibility behind the car is horrible considering its size.
I got a loner 2010 while getting a CEL investigated and I hate the keyfob vs a key and I hate the blinkers on the Gen2 happy not to have those.
I love that reverse is next to first and not next to 6th like it is in many other transmissions.
I like the proximity alert that somewhat makes up for the crap visibility.
I LOVE the sidewalk seats the heated and comfy, the whine of that supercharger and the dissipation of boost when you shut the car off. Love the KH stereo & chrono pack

Another thing: The spring-loaded notches, or "detents", that hold the doors open (on slight inclines, etc.) are spaced wrong. The first one is too narrow to comfortably get in or out of the car, and the second one is too wide, making the door fly into the car next to you! Somewhere in the middle would be "just right", but as it is, you have to physically hold the door that way, as it will try to go to one of the detents, because they're also quite strong (as compared to the typical Asian car's door detents, which are barely noticeable).
I've seen a system on upscale BMWs where the door gently "locks" itself into whatever position you stopped opening it at. It's infinitely variable, and doesn't rely on spring-loaded detents. I wish our cars had this!

My Top Five Irritating Things about My MINI:
That's definitely #1.
#2. Torque steer (R56)
#3. Lack of factory water temp and oil pressure gauges.
#4. A/C could be colder or at least more efficient.
#5. Dash lights don't change with the mood lighting.

That reminds me of another thing: The oil temp guage in the Chrono Pack seems useless to me. Instead, they should have had a boost guage, or at very least, a voltmeter (or better yet, an old-style ammeter--with the +/- charge/discharge readings, which I always found more intuitive than a voltmeter).
1. The nearly useless instrument panel. Even the optional John Cooper Works extra gauges are useless: you only get a turbo gauge and a stupid G-force gauge. (My car is a non-turbo). My last two cars had overheating and battery problems: the exact gauges MINI thinks are "unimportant"!
2. The paint is so unbelievably fragile, it's more fragile than my mom's china! Looking at my hood, you'd think my car was already 10 years old!
3. The window programming always acts up every so often, forcing me to reset the switch.
4. You have to hold the switch down to open the sunroof! Why can't you just tap the switch and forget it. My last car did that.
5. Only three speeds for the wipers. Why can't they just use a basic 6-speed stalk like on the last two I owned?

Things I don't like
On my R53:
There wan't much I did not like about this car. Possibly the suncreen for the sunroof. It was either all the way open or closed. I also did not like the TPM on this car, lots of false positives. Very annoying to re-set.
On my R56:
There is much more torque steer in this car than my R53. Also, I do not like the feel of the turn signals, can't really determine when they are in the momentary setting, or all the way on.
BTW- For those who hate run-flats, there is a fix. Ditch them for a good set of performance tires.

1. Lack of Auto Up Windows (who has info on how to rewire these?)
2. Cup holders are too small
3. No room to work in the engine bay/under car. Everything is crammed in so tight you can't get to anything easily.
The AC does suck, but AC usually sucks on German designed vehicles.

Here's my list...
1.) Stupid seat adjuster that grabs my pants leg every time I get out of the car
2.) Fit & Finish (a topic for an entire thread)
3.) Poorly designed components (strut towers, PS pump, bushings, motor mounts, etc)
4.) and numero uno; Mini / BMW maintenance & parts cost

It's a Mini Cooper... what do you expect
I'm in day #2 with my MCS, so there hasn't been anything I can say I hate right now.
Well, the fact that there's no racetrack close by to have fun on....that kinda sucks
This may be a dumb question, but why do some people hate Run-Flats? Is it because of the cost? Or are they a p.i.t.a? I've never owned a car with these kind of tires, so its totally new to me.

Cost is a reason, but to me the best reason to ditch RF's is the ride

They ride poorly. They are expensive. Limited choices in size and brands.
1)A simple center tire nail hole a tire shop may or may not repair due to concerns of liability. Then you may wait 1, 2, 3 days to get tire since nobody stocks them.
2)Tire shop may charge extra for mounting/dismounting them since they can be really difficult.
3)Tire shop may destroy the bead of the run flat trying to repair said nail hole, then you must wait 1, 2, 3 days to get a tire since nobody stocks them.
So they might be great when you get a flat, but after that they can be a REAL PIA.
I experienced all 3 on my original set of tires.

My MINI came with Continental ContiProContact SSR run flats, 205/45 R17.
I think the car rides very nice, it's comparable to my Volvo Wagon, not harsh at all!
TireTeam has them for $149.13 each, which is about what I've paid for non-runflats on my other cars.
I don't understand the run-flat hate either.
