I'm in the same boat as you. Having only owned it for a week, and accumulating about 300 miles, I can't say that there is anything I even remotely "hate" about the car. Sure, the break dust is annoying, and the run flats aren't the best, but those are pretty minimal issues in my book.

As long as the engine and transmission don't give me any major issues, I don't see myself hating anything on this car. However, I didn't really hate anything on any of the other dozen or so cars I've owned, so maybe I'm just not that picky.

My wife pointed out today that the only clock is about as far away from the driver as possible. Not too bad of a complaint though if that's the only one.

I hate the armrest placements... as a long legged guy I cannot place my elbow anywhere accept the top window sill of the driver's windows and still reach the steering wheel. I have a factory center (flip up) armrest, and I am now putting a chair cushion pillow on top of hit for long drives.

The only thing that can be an annoyance for me is more a matter of convenience than a dislike - a feature that would be nice to have. It would certainly would have been nice to have had the option for memory seats when I ordered Cary - I would have ordered them in a heartbeat. Anytime Cary went in for detailing or perhaps my wife drove him, and the seat was moved, it can be a bear and take some time to get it back to my driving position. That's only because I got terribly spoiled with my wife's car that has this feature... push a button and presto! right where I like it (not to mention side and rear view mirrors)! Certainly no "hates" though....

The cup holders. It really is something I overlooked when deciding on a MINI. I have some sort of drink in my car with me almost every day, whether it be a water bottle for work or a Dr. Pepper from lunch. I find myself having to put my drink in the rear cup holder! Not a huge dealer since, I don't usually take swigs while driving. It just worries me when the day comes that a passenger AND myself may have a drink. Guess the passenger will hold theirs

I wonder how the original MINI owners survived without cup holders.

Big rear view mirror obstructs forward view!

Especially with mountain driving and autocross. I hate it. I've seen a thread about a fix but it looks like it took a lot of work, tools, time, and hassle! Anyone have a quicker fix?

I hate the Nav+MINIConnect UI

I love my MINI...but hate the Nav+MINIConnect UI. It actually detracts from my enjoyment of the car. It offers cool features...but actually using the features is near impossible and extremely frustrating. Not to mention distracting! Checking out the song title or setting a favorite song shouldn't be so hard!

I actually got so annoyed by this that I wrote a three-part series about it - these stories are the most viewed pages on my blog! Plus, I figured I'd be torn apart my MINI users for writing the stories...but it turns out most people that commented agree with me.

So...that's my answer...Nav+MINIConnect UI. (MINI...PLEASE fix this!)

If you want to check out the series...you can find it here: http://goo.gl/pAeRn

Thanks!

Agree on the cup holders issue. I get a Venti Iced Coffee every day at Starbucks and the cup holder placement makes it difficult to hit the heated seats and windows buttons. I often end up using the rear seat cup holder as well.

I had been driving an 93 MR2 for the past 18 months, so I'm just happy this car has cup holders. I usually throw my big water bottle on the seat next to me, so it doesn't affect me very often.

However, although I don't personally drink soda, I will agree that fast food beverages don't fit in the cup holders very well, and make it difficult to access the window ****.

The way it taunts me from the parking lot as I gaze from my office window. It will be at least three more hours before I can drive it again....

You can always open your glovebox and find two shallow (really shallow) cupholders there. It's good for highway smooth ride use. I removed all the cup holders cuz they get in my way too much. I also removed the arm rest.
And Yes to all the comments about rear cup holder.

At least you can see yours from your office. I feel like I'm trapped inside a concrete prison. I have to look at my desktop wallpaper when I want to see it; kind of like a proud parent.

I agree!! If I'm not driving my MINI, I'm working, or doing something that helps me pay for or take care of my MINI.
(Sometimes I leave her alone to let her rest!)

With the new coupe and the gun slit rear view I am debating just removing it all together

The clock is one of many options you can have on your odometer display, so you don't have to rely on looking at the far side of the speedometer.

You could get these magnetic removable door guards?:

Maybe it is a 2012 thing but the time does not appear to be an option in the tach display.
