its not the chiming, i did a search and it seems theres hundreds of people with this problem in the 2006's. the light comes on saying the airbag is off up above your head, then the airbag light comes on, not the seat belt light, and if you whack the seat maybe in a few minutes they will go out, but most times it stays on for a few days then goes out and sometimes both come back on like theres something in the seat but not heavy enough, and its not just the yellow air bag off light, its the airbag light itself, the seat belt light dosn;t even come on. if you read further down on the link, you will see someone saying are they the only one with reacurring problems with the seat, then i didi a search more and found out lots of people have this problem, like i said, its not the chiming of he seatbelt not on light, its the airbag off and air bag light both on.

Re my posts #1212 & 1222: I lowered my seat a bit and can now see into the corkscrews, and even see some more traffic signals. I also turned the lumbar **** to max, and then baced off a half turn, and am much more comfy. Originally, I was less comfy moving from minimum to medium and so did not try max.
Now if I can figure out how to raise the lighting and HVAC controls...

Yeah my airbag light does that. Since theres no way to manually turn it off (as far as I can tell) I figured that its a safety mechanism based on lower weights in the seat to protect the airbag from deploying if theres a child in a car seat in the front.

I have the dash light and overhead light for the airbag as well. It will go off after I've driven without a passenger for awhile, and stay off until someone sits in the seat again. Not a huge deal. However, now the seatbelt light/chime has started going off occasionally as well. This is much worse... if it becomes a regular occurrence, I'll have to go to the dealer and pony up.

Re-read my reply. I said I got the "sport" seat upgrade option and even they don't come with lumbar adjustment. What a ripoff. I guess next time I consider a new car, if they don't offer lumbar support on either, I'll get the cheapest seats and rip them out and get Recaros or something similar. My cousin did that with his Camaro.

I hate that MINI makes me want to drive as if I am on a race track even when I am just going to the grocery store.

I don't see what's that got to do with anything, I was replying to a post about leather seats.

When I was responding to your question, I told you how some MINI have the option.

From a tuning stand point, I miss the Japanese cars available ECU upgrades, the Accessport spoiled me with my former Subaru. Its not a hate thing, but it is an issue for when my warranty is up, the heavy mods will begin and hopefully, ease up ecu upgrade.

My hate goes out to people who don't know cars and think this is "like a PT cruiser/hhr" and other idiotic statements, Same for when people called my '03 WRX a Dodge neon... Round headlights do not make a neon....

MINI central switches are awsome, cup holder inconvenience is awesome! Nobody brings food in my car as most drinks get in the way and nobody likes chips without soda.

I find it's easier to drive in traffic with sport mode on. More linear torque curve, and doesn't stall in hot weather.

I don't dislike anything about my MINI. Of course, it's a '12 with only 2,000 miles on it. The first 1000 miles were spent varying the rpm quite a bit but never going over 4200. The next 500 miles were different and more fun -- I even saw 135 mph a few times in eastern Oregon and Idaho. Straight highways, no police in sight, etc. Let 'er rip! Solid as a rock at that speed too. I was impressed.

I hate the gas gauge. It is not linear so the last quarter tank goes faster than the 1st or middle quarter. I like the fold down sun visor on the drivers side but it's not big enough.

The fact that it isn't linear doesn't bother me as much as the fact that it isn't analog.

I don't like how the seatbelt gets caught between the door and seat lever when I take it off.

And I agree on the gas gauge. I usually fill up before the light comes on, because it actually lights up right after the last line. In my last 2 cars, it came on when the needle was actually right above the light.

I would have to second the motion about the gas gauge being a thing I am confused about ( I don't hate it but... ). When the warnning chimes alerts me that it is down to the last to "dots" on the dash it says that there is 50 miles left. How low can I go - will the gauge get down to the gas pump symbol before I am pushing it to the premium pump?

I love my sunroof too! There isn't a single thing I don't like about it actually now that I've programed in the one-touch open/close.

I hate the overly enthusiastic seatbelt tensioners and how they lock up at the slightest tap of the brake. I can't tell you how many times I've had to change lanes quickly on a freeway because a car slams on their brakes or to avoid missing an exit, and the seatbelt locks preventing me from checking my blindspot. God I hate those things so much, by being this sensitive, they're more dangerous than safe.

Ditto. My sunroof was perfect for watching the meteor shower last night.

I only have 2200 miles on my '12 MCS but the sunroof works perfectly. I went a drenching high-pressure car wash the other day (not the kind that beats the car to death) and nary a drop leaked through. On the other hand, someone who shall remain nameless cut her wheels too sharply and dragged the left front of the air dam over a curb. Gouged the heck out of it too, but no metal damage. I got a bottle of Mother's Back to Black to see if I can restore it. I'm sure MINI would gouge my wallet to replace that piece of plastic.

Annoyed with the rattle coming from every bump on the road. I can't tell if its the stupid shocks or something that the dealer didn't tighten. I will look myself when I put the car up this weekend.

I had 297 miles on my MINI when a bzzzzz sound came from the instrument panel or steering column. It sounded like a small nut had comes loose and was rattling around in a tiny steel plate. It wasn't consistent and I haven't heard it but once in the last 1500 miles of city driving. A certain type of pavement provokes the sound. Still, this shouldn't be in a car this day and age. But I have to follow that up by saying I ain't getting rid of my little rocket over a bzzzzz in the dash. I would simply urge MINI/BMW to fix the damn thing. We expect better out of these cars.
