Called the dealership to try to figure out what happened to my missing sway bar while the rust was being repaired.

Dropped it off to get the suspension refreshed, power steering lines replaced, parking brake rebuilt, and hopefully tensioner fixed with a new belt. When someone took my sway bar they did something... I didn't feel safe going over bumps on my way to my mechanic.

Just installed Copper S spoiler on my Justa. Also replaced the broken cigarette lighter orange bezel and made a discovery.....my bezel has a bulb in place but no wiring!!! How to make that thing light with the interior ambient lights is now a quest. Will also be installing a R86 rim with 215/45 tires maybe in a few days.

Turned 160000 on my sons 2008 Clubman S today. Out for a spirited ride down the Delaware river on the Jersey and Pa. Sides.

Today, Egan surpassed 161k miles. After some breakfast at a local diner with my GF (which was delicious btw!), we went for a short drive, and hit another motoring mile marker.

I do miss driving Egan around since I got my Cherokee, but when I do, it's all the more reason why I want to keep him. He's been my buddy as of June 29th for 11 years, and I'm still planning to do some preventive maintenance later this summer (clutch, supercharger, gaskets and seals, and other odds and ends). I can't wait.

Hope everyone else has been enjoying their 4th of July, and everywhere else in the world, hope your day has been going splendid.

Added passenger ejection seat. Note: should only use when sunroof is open for best results.

Cannot help but to notice the switch lacks a flip-open cover to protect from unintended trigger. Me think it is either for the in law or the ex.

I replaced the door brake for my R53's passenger door. Now both doors have fresh door brakes. Hopefully these will last for a while.

What tint percentage is this? Been wanting to do mine for ages but haven't ironed out all the details. Looks great!

mini killed 2 tires

Mini killed two tires at the recent track day. Like a bad parent, I immediately went shopping for a replacement set to reward bad behavior.

the belt must had separated in two tires - the tire on the right grew in diameter

the right rear tire had an easy job as the track is clockwise; lots of pickup

each weights in 1.5 stone

they are asymetrical

to get them mounted onto the SSR type-Cs by a small indy shop near PIR

I am very pleased with the set of recent modifications on the track for the first time.

Placed hood stripes on... I have few stubborn bubbles. I'll try to heat it up with a heat gun and flatten them out.

Escaped for a drive last night. Wife was out, friends weren't around, and the weather was prime for windows-down motoring.

Put the front plate on Ethel. Went with a Cravenspeed tow mount. Their customer service is awesome. I forgot to check that I had parking sensors and they got an extender right out to me so I could shift the ove and up a little.

Front plate with nonholes +++1

Just placed door kick protector film made of clear 3M film on both doors. Now I wont worry of permanently marking the doors with my leather shoes every time I get out of the car when parked on a tight spot.

Repaired signs of surface rust under boot seal gasket

While pulling off rear boot lip panel I needed to lift off the boot gasket seal for hatch. I discovered early signs of surface rust in area of boot latch....

Taped off area, wire brush/sandpaper and shop vac'd the area. Then sealed off the area with body shop plastic for overspray. Used Rustoleum Rust Reformer....Seals / stops the rust from forming further by turning it into something inert preventing it from continuing. Then cleaned out the crevasse of the gasket from any rust particles, used some WD40 on the gasket and sealed it back up. New gasket not expensive, will replace with new one that provides better seal in this area.

All better.....

In the last few years, I did this same preventive measure for both pass and driver side openings....and replaced those door seals with new as well. Probably should have checked this back then....

Lucy helped stage the company 100th Anniversary Parade. Lots of equipment from all eras. Liked the 1944 snowblower.

Replaced Rear Brakes

Still trying to bring the MINI back to life after the PO seemed to have skipped any sort of maintenance on it. I'm going as fast as my knowledge and wallet allow.
