Even with RF tires, those never gave me confidence that I would make it home if the tire pressure was lost.

I've known three people who have had blow outs and when I ask them, didn't you know your tire was bald? old? cracking? "Nope..." is the answer I get...
The only blowout I ever had was in my MINI, on the 101/202 stack in Tempe. To be fair, the dealer where I bought Nudnik (a Chevy dealer in Avondale) sent me out with 5 year old tires that they knew were dangerous (the morning after I brought Nudnik home, I found that one had a slow leak that they were refilling every day) even though the tread looked great, in spite of having a huge sign at the entrance to their lot that stated "WE SELL TIRES". They also beat me up on financing, and then pulled a fast one with "the bank needs you to put more money down to secure the loan", which, somehow, magically, didn't lower my loan balance.

Since buying my own tires, I have not had a blowout, because I am also ****-retentive when it comes to keeping track of my tires, and since the blowout, I now know how to read production date codes on tires....

I can imagine it only takes once! I have a compressor in the garage with a line and a gun attached to a gauge. It's a great way to maintain tire pressure. But it also forces you to check out the tires. So after measuring the tire tread, I also go around the inner/outer sidewall looking for anything obvious.

Every six months, I put the MINI/Ody/CRX up on blocks and go through everything looking for stuff to replace, tighten or anything going south. For me this is a great way to be proactive fixing the car.

On my Odyssey, I found the front lower control arm bushings torn one inspection. So, while I was in there,I replace the shocks at all four corners, both front lower control arms, front swaybar links and swaybar bushings. Dare I say it, everything is running well at the moment... (knocks on wood...)

Well I got my front koni fsd installed today. After I was finished. I made a trip to Quick Care. Ugh, slammed my left pointer finger with my sledge. They had to burn a hole in my damn nail. It still hurts like a mother @$#&. Will install the rears next week.

Wash, claybar, polish and wax, then a quick interior detail. Just routine "make it shiny" work that was a bit overdue.

Yesterday, I sold my 05 MCS with 105,000 miles for $7,000. Pretty pleased as this was $2,000 more than I would have gotten in trade :-) Now just waiting to pick up the new F56 later this week!

Secret Compartment Accent

I like the little bit of pizzaz the Bayswater stripes add to the piano black dash. I would like to add a small red stripe with small checkerboard to accent a piano black dash in similar fashion as the stripes on the Bayswater. Does anyone have any ideas about how I could do that without it looking tacky? Has anyone else done anything like this? Thanks.

Think that was a dealership promo bulldog sticker , there was ones from Burton ( Snowboards ) also and they did not have an OEM MINI part number. My guess its the same.

If you are looking for other Bulldog item you can find some here:

Couldn't beat the price. Still undecided on whether or not I want to paint the tips black.

Finally decided to order a Snow Performance Methanol Injection kit. I'm not letting this NC heat ruin my summer Motoring fun...

First set of track day wheels and tires. Team Dynamics and BFG G-Force Rivals. Tires are street legal so I put them on for the next couple days to see... It was dry today and they were fantastic, can't wait to try them at real speed. On the other hand, it's clouding up and I don't think they'll be much use in the rain...

Finally made an appointment to get windows tinted.
