Did this yesterday. Took ZIM 2.0 out for his first sreious drive after surgery/reconstruction. We went to SC to visit relatives and afterwards found some nice long twisting back roads. I managed to open it up and let him run wild ripping up the pavement. I was very impressed how ZIM handled.

Baked the headlights apart, dremeled a hole in the back and added D2S bi-xenon projectors, 4300K bulbs, and ballasts in the stock housing and sealed it all back up and the guys at the dealership were quite impressed. Looks semi-OEM fron the ouside, all wiring is in the housing and hooks up just like OEM with the one large connector on the back. Pretty fun way to spend my Friday off of work. Pics to come soon.

Re Painted Interior Trim

Put the Black and Red carbon Fiber stripes on, Not sure if I like them or not.
Re painted the Interior Trim with factory Indi Blue Paint, and the Black F7 Sport Edition Winter wheels with the Red Mini S Caps are on.

I put Way Motor Works' Turbo Wrap on my turbocharger. Man those three front bolts securing the turbo shield are fiddly buggers! It took me as long to put those back as it did to disassemble it and put the little blanket (lagging) on the turbo. I finally asked my wife to try, she could get her hands between the turbo and the radiator. She had some trouble too, I heard her say some bad words, but she got the bolts started and it was easy after that.

I took the MINI for a spirited drive to cook the lagging on the turbo, it smoked some, but lagging always does that when it's new.

I work on large industrial diesels and they all have lagging on the hot side of the turbochargers, to improve efficiency. I guess MINI left it off as a cost saving measure.

Oh, I washed the MINI too!

Dave

today I found my mini under a 1" dusting of snow and found out how unexciting and boring it is to drive... in the snow. In my eclipse, I could dump the clutch at 3 grand in first, sit there and do nothing for a few seconds, rev it to about 5, dump it in 2nd, and start moving once I let off the accelerator.

Stupid mini and it's "traction control" and lighter/lower center of gravity.

Outmotoring's $99 sale on Gen 2 side scuttles was hard to pass up. Especially since my credit union gave me a $100 gift card for re-financing the MINI with them! I ordered these things mid-day on Friday and I got them today.

I like dealing with a company that is courteous (thanks Aaron!), prompt and sells a quality product. Thanks, outmotoring!

I love this thread!! Sadly all I did with my MINI today was drive it to work, gaze longingly at it during my entire 7 hour shift, and allowed my mother that decided to show up show Zippy off to her friend.

I am preparing for a photoshoot with Zippy! I got a new "I <3 MINI" T-shirt and will have my boyfriend take some pics of me with the car with his good equipment........

Will post them soon!
