So I've been zipping around Austin the last few days, unfortunately haven't seen too many MINIs somehow! But I did notice once in traffic from 620 to 71 towards downtown, that every single car going the opposite direction had a front plate. Not one car I've seen (in my limited recollection) has no front plate! I'm glad you haven't been pulled over though, once I get back to StL I'm pulling off this contraption ASAP

Ammonia will attack plastic and most glass coatings, some plastics get cloudy, some turn yellow. Nowadays, it is best to avoid ammonia based glass cleaners altogether.

I was, but I changed my mind. I want a 135i badly so I'm going the N55 route.

Yesterday, jacked the clubman and bled the brakes. Today, the wife and I changed all the pads and rotors before lunch. Just as I finished torquing the wheel bolts down, UPS shows up with NGK spark plugs so those got installed after lunch. Whew!

Haha I would but I'm not going to take the headlights off the car. Why not get Spec-D's with an HID kit?

Packed in some stuff, hooked up the little trailer, and rolled out of Phoenix in a rush towards South Carolina, but got the call that the trip was (thankfully) unnecessary by the time I was in Heber.

Got in a nice 350 mile dry run with the trailer, though, and on varied roadways from freeway to 2-lane, including up some pretty decent-sized mountains. if/when I do have to make the trip, it will hopefully go as smoothly as today went, and maybe a little faster due to having got a lot of the last-minute prep out of the way, so next time I can just get in the car, hook up the trailer, and roll on outahere....

C ya,
Dutch

No Spec D's for me just yet unless I find some used ones to see if I like them (most of what I read tells me I will not like them at all) Might go with Black Flame Customs...they're not far from me so I can just drop off a set of OEM headlights.

I'd definitely take it to them, they have good customer support! Post it up when you do, I'll still be on the forums when my car is gone.

Installed my SSR Type C wheels. I painted them red, which I know certain people find absolutely terrible looking on pepper white, but I really like it, so those people can kick rocks

The difference in the feel of the car is night and day versus the stock "S-Lite" wheels. I'm on 205/50/16 Continental DW tires but haven't messed with them much yet, still have to scrub them in. The total weight loss going from S-Lites with stock run-flats to these wheels and tires is 62lbs. Everything feels better and easier, even my gas mileage is better by a little. The ride is a little better now with the taller sidewall as well. The wheels are 16x6.5 +44 so the stance isn't exactly what kids think is cool nowadays, haha, and the tires are a little ballooned, but it's not bad, I really like it.

I need coilovers now for sure, probably going to order Megan Euro coils along with adjustable rear LCA's next month.

I successfully re-wired my paddle shifters for L-/R+. Piece of cake. And no more downshifting with my thumbs

Picked it up from the dealer today after having them change the rear main seal. I installed my cravenspeed dipstick (amazing), and I installed my first go badge.

Yesterday had the full Akra Evo exhaust installed, as well as the GFB DV+.

Today, I washed, polished, and waxed the car!
