The orange graphic was ordered online, and the side mirrors are... Rustoleum!

Total cost of the project, start to finish... $180.

For that price, we can strip it all down and change it every year if we want to. Hubby loves it. It's like driving a Hot Wheels car. You almost can't help making VROOM VROOM noises...

Looks great, Joanie. I like the roof stripes - want to do that eventually to mine.

While waiting for the first coat of plastidip to dry on the front grille trim, I just so happened to poke around the engine bay with the flashlight and noticed something inside next to the fuse box that didn't belong. It was a bottle cap from a quart of oil that the MINI technician from the dealer probably dropped and didn't notice. That was about 20k miles ago since I only had the dealer do my oil change once, and I have done the rest every 5k miles. Oh well, at least no harm came of it.

Oh man, you know I love what you've done!! When I bought my MINI, it already had the vinyl stripes and top done. Didn't like having orange on the MINI at first, but then I saw her at dusk.....
Something about the light late in the afternoon, that just makes my MINI POP!!
Walking out of a store and seeing a sea of bland, normal cars and trucks, and the MINI just draws your eye.
One added feature of my stripes, is that the orange in the stripes is reflective.

Hard to hide in my MINI!!

Great job on your graphics!!

Plastidipped the trim above the license plate and the passenger side scuttle panel!
Keeping my mods subtle on her for the fact that shes a pepper on pepper 2006 JCW, have never seen another! Although I'm sure they are out there.
Getting a black grill soon though, looks off without it.

Oil change, found corrosion on coil pack, inspected control arm bushings - looks like I'll be replacing them. Now ordering a few parts.

Well it was Friday but...

I found and bought a really nice set of JCW BBK from a 2010 convertible you you car (you you = car that was towed behind an RV).

Couple of stone chip on the bright red calipers...probably from following the RV with its nose up

I'll correct the chips this week and probably paint the rotor centers with black paint for rust prevention mostly and a little bit for looks I confess.

Still wondering if I should take high heat enamel paint (probably a good idea though).

Then they'll go under the car...with a little fitting

Removed the hood scoop insert. Probably does nothing.

Does removing the front license plate really help anything?

Mine was located such that it blocked ALL airflow to the lower grill. It was mounted to just the grill (see the pic in my Garage), not on the bumper partially overhanging the grill like many here have. Gained almost 3MPG.

Also I did the Front/Rear Speaker Channel Swap - Yay for better sound!

Thanks! So I'm guessing the bumper mounted plate is the factory 'fix' in the current generation? And probably no gains to be had removing?

I agree the channel swap is one of the best things you can do to bandage the stock stereo. Even the stock radio in my $16k '05 tC was a million times better.

For each of my three many as I had to ask my dealer two or three times in advance of picking the car up to not install that front plate. I just can't stand that permanent mounting on the bumper or worse as the case may be on the grill. To keep the plate in the boot on one of those tow hook mounting brackets so if I'm pulled over there you go.

I got new tires yesterday and went to get them installed at a local discount tire. Tires I got are 195/50/16 with a load index of 84h. It was brought to my attention that the load index can't be lower than 87h. They wouldn't put the tires on the car because of that...what I'm asking is...would it be ok to still put the tires on the car or am I out what I paid for the tires?

Repost this question in the Wheels and Tires thread, and you'll get a better-quicker answer.
