Remember that being my first time doing anything on a car, it took about 40 minutes. I didn't have a screwdriver to pry off the panel so spent some time looking for something suitable. (used a small chisel).

There are a couple YouTube videos-this one helped figure out what to look for inside:

If the mechanic replaced the cable, that is more work. I just did the felt tape fix so the cable stays where it's supposed to.
I hate getting ripped off by mechanics. But I have a really good one now that lets me watch and ask questions.

With only 500 miles on the car I needed to put air in one of the tires. The TPM light came on and identified the left rear tire. It didn't look low, but was running at 24 PSI instead to the 38 that is called for. Now I'm worried that I have a slow leak or bad valve. I'm nowhere near home, my daughter is using the car during the day and tire stores are all closed at night.

Careful on the gas cap. I did the gas cap surround about two months ago, and a couple of careless fill-ups, spilling just a few drops of gas, totally ate away at the plasti-dip. It's since been removed.

I tried the 3M tape belt line black out without success. Tiny slivers of crome showing through and etc. Any tips or links you can share?

I'll look for a diy.

tips would be, don't stretch it while applying. leave it a bit over the edges like a 1/16 inch over so when it shrinks it still covers the chrome. just keep doing it and you will get the hang of it. I'll check on links..

looks like the outmotoring kit has worked better for some people. I did the electrical tape and took it off after a couple years and it was pretty easy to clean. I will probably reapply some tape sometime. not much for how'to's out there.. keys are don't stretch the tape and leave it a bit long..

Did you have to remove the calipers to paint them? Can you share any tips or links?

new (to Me and Justa) wheels and tires. :)

When I got my 2005 Justa, it had the OEM drilled 8-hole 15" rims. I didn't mind them so much, but they just never reminded me of the car I had pictured in my head this Mini could look like. They looked more like 'flying saucer' wheels. I wanted the "Hot Wheels" car I remembered having as a kid.

So, after picking up some different OEM rims on eBay, now my Mini has what I think are *much cooler* OEM 5-spoke rims. Many of you will think this was a lame change, but I am exceptionally happy with the new look. (And I am not one to go doing radical tire-diameter changes with all that significant expense.)

Now I'm looking to checkerboard the entire roof (including surround and sunroof glass) and get checkerboard mirror caps. That will be about all I'm changing. Oh, and some black and white racing stripes.

One step at a time....

Good choice, both sets are among Mini's lightest 15" rims, and I know several excellent R50 drivers on 15's who'll give any R53 a run for their money on challenging roads or autocross courses!

Added a D1 Spec Throttle Controller. 1/3 the price of the sprint booster and works great.

Cool, thanks! Do you tuck the tape under the rubber or leave it on top?

Have been eyeing this - really notice a difference? Am looking at this for one of 3 mods going together (other two are NM Eng CAI and sway bar).

On Wednesday, Indi got a new right side strut mount. It was cracking pretty bad, and was obviously the cause behind my odd steering :/

Tomorrow, she's getting a new left strut mount, as that one seems to be mushrooming a bit. Better do it now, just to be safe! They are KYB's, by the way.

Long story short, the Koni's I got a month ago were built incorrectly. Auto parts online store that sold us them were being dumb and big fat liars and wouldn't refund me. Finally refunded me this morning thanks to my yelling husband <3
He bought me new springs from a local MINI shop here in town called EuroTech. They are HP+ springs. He's installing those tomorrow as well

I know what you mean! I had those same 15's on my 2003 Justa when I bought her. The owner gave me a second set as well though. Thank goodness! I am not sure the correct style name, but I like to call them the spike spokes (16's) MUCH sportier looking! But they won't be on long, as I am ordering Rota's in a few weeks

Motored 380 miles back home from the Adirondacks today. He's got lots of bugs on his face, but we found a big chair along the way.

She got her new springs and left strut mount put on this morning. Drives better than ever before

I also just order white bonnet stripes, the "bubble" design. I've had my eye on these since before I got her, so I'm SUPER excited cuz they're so different
