Plastidipped my taillight rings. Easiest thing I've painted so far!

Again drove the Dodge Journey rental car while my Mini's in the shop. It's actually a really nice smaller SUV, quiet, well-equipped, well-mannered... and VERY Vanilla. Some people really like vanilla. I want a little jalapeno in mine.

Changed my stripes. Ripped off the bonnet stripes and made some carbon fiber ones.

Got my Mont Blanc roof rack and Thule fairing in the mail today. Spent my whole afternoon not reading the instructions and spent nearly 4 hours of trial and error installing it. Pics to come later!

I finally finished my Plastidip project. I also blacked out the bonnet white stripes with black vinyl pinstripes after I took these pictures. I really like the way it turned out. I'm not sure at this point if I should Plastidip the door handles and gas cap.

Previous owner plastidipped my gas cap. I kind of like it. Door handles? eh not much my taste. My mirrors are dipped too (I see yours aren't), and I like the contrast that provides as well. Looks good though!

Thanks. I have to do a Photoshop on the side mirrors to see how Plastidip will look.

Looks great! I've been thinking about plasti-dipping my A-pannels but haven't gotten up the nerve yet. Some people say they look like off-color replacement parts but I think they look great on yours.

highsiderider, i think you should paint (or vinyl wrap) your A pillars RED! that would be a nice contrast (the vinyl would be very cheap and easy and non-permanent)... also, seems like your "front heavy" on the black... consider some sort of rear stripe? perhaps something diagonal in nature on the rear fender or something.

just suggestions!

I appreciate that compliment. Give the Plastidip a shot. Like you, I was a little apprehensive at first but I new I can peel it off if it doesn't turn out as I had expected. I actually had to do that on the driver side and repaint it again. One tip if you decide to do it is to use a hair dryer between coats. I used about 5 coats of Plastidip to make it more durable. I did the same on the wheels and it's been about 7 months now with just a little touch up on the edge of the wheels from when I had my tires replaced with none runflats.

I've never done vinyl wraps before. I'll do Photoshop and see what the red pillar would look like and also the black stripe suggestion. Cool...

Dropped it back off at the dealer for warranty re-do work ("Bad BMW! Bad leather upholstery and SRS sensor!").

Applied Bonnet stripes. I got them from www.minipartsmass.com
About two hours a and half a pack of cigarettes.
Many thanks for the second set of hands, Lou S.

my husband put on 6" black and white checkerboard stripes at the bottoms of each side of my beloved Alice. We just put white racing stripes on the bonnet a month ago, and now she looks just perfect for me! Still awaiting my vanity plate "Alice" then she will be done. Sigh....<3
