What did you do to your mini today?
Nice! Just wait til the pulley is installed. Wheeeeeeee!!!
This one ^^^^^^.
Today Hendrix was washed, dryed, and some antifreeze was added to the overflow tank.
I feel very fortunate to have owned BOTH vehicle types shown in this picture .... a 1971 Hughes 500C and a MINI.
Today I washed the Wet Okole seat covers that I bought at the Dragon (yeah, I know but they seemed pretty clean
), treated the leather seats underneath and then made a windscreen! Well, really I roughed out the windscreen in late March/ early April but today I integrated the windscreen into the Wet Okole seat covers. I modified the windscreen a little so that it looks better and now I can access the storage areas sewn into the seat covers.
It is actually pretty easy to make a windscreen (especially now that I have a *pattern* if you have moderate sewing skills. I was surprised at how quickly it went together today.

Put in my new JCW Blackout grill and ditched the chrome fishgills (how does the engine breathe with that thing in there I'll never know).
I also popped out my stock MC scuttles and started my experiment... once they're dry tomorrow I'll see how well it worked.

Fishgills? If you're talking about the standard Mini grill, that's a link back to the classic Mini grill! I like the Blackout grill too, but the traditional grill has some history.
I sat in my Mini today and programed the Bluetooth voice phone numbers, what a pain in the butt!

Rotated tires for the first time on a MINI. I normally have Discount Tires do it but not this and future times. I'm on my 3rd MINI and this is the first time I've taken a wrench to one, even if it was a simple task. I'm just not the mechanic I used to be back in the 70's to early 90's.
Water in Battery Compartment of '05 Mini S
Discovered significant water in battery box of my '05 Mini S with sunroof.
Must replace BST cables ( trunk to front bay), replace fuse assembly located in the boot. Significant rust must also be removed from the battery box. This was the result of a need to replace the original battery with 28,300 miles. Check the boot for water in battery compartment on a regular basis.

loose nuts
Finally got around to pulling door panel off and tightened the door handle, been on the list since I got the car!
Might rotate tires this afternoon, having uneven tire wear, front to back,
and as usual waiting for parts. No mail today, Long Weekend Up Here.
