Sharp L@@KIN' MINI you got there ishlara!!

Can I ask you about the Rear Window Shades...how do you like them and where did you get them from?

My Offices will be moving to a "NO Shade" property and no security from what I understand next month and am thinking that these will keep Molly a bit cooler and keep Looky Lou's at bay...hopefully!!

WOOHOO!!! Congrats on that man! I know how awesome that feeling can be. I hope you get your car back together, I was reading the build thread a couple months ago and I would be so sad if my mini was in that situation. Good luck getting it fixed soon.

Sorry for your loss as well Dutch. I am sure he is in a better place now, even though that doesn't make it any easier.

As for me, I did my sway bar last night, and I actually was able to do a project on Cyndi with out major hitches. I had all the tools I needed for the job and it took less than 3 hours! I was pretty proud of myself being a weekend DIYer...

Wonder if I can tackle the leaky oil pan job by myself.

Still have a CAI and front stress brace coming. The CAI may come next week, but George from MM said the stress brace is another 4 weeks away...

yup, the kit from Outmotoring. Although I believe "kit" is a bad word for it, more like "roll of 3M pinstripe tape that is the correct width that you need to cut yourself" for some reason when I ordered it I thought it would be plastic pieces that snapped over the chrome, I laughed when I opened the package to find a roll of tape in a baggie, then kicked myself thinking I may have been able to find the tape cheaper elsewhere (but have yet to see the tape in that thickness in any stores, only the thin stuff). Either way it's worth it, much better than chrome.

As for my Mini... yesterday I got it aligned by a race shop that works mainly on Porsche race cars, they used to support a local Mini race team so the guy was familiar with them. I've never seen someone go to such lengths to get such a precise alignment, he broke out these tools I've never seen before and it rides amazing now

These shades rock, they do hide stuff in the back unless you go up to the window as they screen out light along with my tint. They are the same material that they use on the sunroof screens. I bought mine at the Mini dealership for $110 and you install in 5 minutes! They also come off easy for cleaning of both window and dust and have a bag to store them if you wish to remove them. Adds to the "look" also and are a legal way to tint !

Absolutely love them !

The gauges are from Out Motoring. They are a factory add on that mount with a couple screws under the center dash. The wiring connects to the harness behind the radio with two wires being run into the engine compartment. Connections are made with insulation piercing connectors. It's about 1.5hr job to do.

Finally got to take my car for a ride with MM 22mm rear sway bar... All I can say is HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The body roll is almost eliminated, and even seems to provide a smoother ride quality. The car feels extremely solid.

I cannot wait to add the 15-20 HP with a pulley!

I just finished installing a Defenders of Speed intake in the car. As expected, not much of a power increase, but oh the turbo music is so sweet :-)

Took my dashing Brit motoring with 68 other mates in Virginia's MINIs on the Ferry run hosted by the Hampton Roads Club MINI - Yorktown-Williamsburg-Jamestown-Surry. It was brilliant!

Changed the oil and fuel filter today. Was going to install my boost gauge but now I have an oil light going on at idle. Anyone have experience with that after an oil change? Doesn't happen while being revved.

Need to figure this out soon. Pulley and exhaust show up from UPS later this week!

I have a 2nd gen so my oil filter is a little different but the 1st gen's the oil filter goes on in one direction. You did put it in correctly, right?
Just a thought as someone posted awhile back but didn't mention a oil
light but a oil leak around the filter housing.

Check the garbage now for a piece of your canister that can get stuck to the oil filter when you pull it out. It's a holder thing with a spring on it. I have read many reports of low oil pressure at idle when the car is put back together without this spring thing. Do some searching and you may find pictures of this part- I don't have any handy right now. I believe you may cause some damage if you continue to drive like this.

Thanks guys. Figured it out. There's a little spring in the oil filter housing and it wasn't set right when I put it back in. That was a little scary.

Good excuse to degrease the entire engine. Running and looking pretty now.

Glad to have another HD pal also. I've got a 96 Custom with hot rod heads and it's chopped also.

Installed my adjustable rear control arms today, aligned her, and replaced the battery. After a brisk drive I may need to soften the rear bar, but more miles to go before I make another change....

Installed torque arm bushings and helix short throw shifter. On a JCW, the short throw was not a very straight forward install. However the torque arm bushings took about 5 min.
