I already have my clear bra installed. The car I purchased was a dealer demo, and came with the kit already on it... so the stripes or bra first question is sort of moot for me. I'd like to put on a set of black sport stripes, but I don't want to do it if the bump where the black vinyl goes over the edge of the clear bra looks terrible...

Does anyone have any photos of their stripes installed on top of a clear bra? How bad does the bump over the edge of the bra look? Would anyone mind posting some photos?

Go stick some electrical tape over and see. It doesnt look that bad. I have pictures of mine on my blog

 

You can definitely see it, but I don't think it's bad. Far better than the other options of either no stripes or stripes under IMHO.

 

My stripes go over the clear bra. You could stand right next to it and not realize it. I think I have a pretty high end clear bra though. It is extremely hard to tell it's even on the car. (maybe the photo's dont' show it the best. If I get some time I'll get a close up with no glare...)

 

Wow... I can just barely see the clear bra in the second photo, and not at all in the first one. My clear bra is part of the 3m rock shield kit, and I can find the line no matter what I do, my friends don't even notice it though.

I have stripes over my 3M. You have to look at the right angle (from the wing mirror looking forward over the bonnet) to be able to spot them.

I don't know about the US and State Farm, but I bought mine at the Disney Store in Canada about 2 years ago.

 

I love that sunshade too, and those stripes look great! I think I'm gonna go for it and get the stripes.

 

My Mini came with the stripes from the factory. The dealership put the clear bra over the stripes. I didn't think much of it at the time 3 years ago, but now I'm wondering what to do because the uncovered part of the stripe is starting to stain/water spot a little, and there is a little bit of dirt in the clear bra where a gap forms when it goes over the stripe.

I'm hoping that the dealership will foot the bill for a replacement clear bra over the bonnet area if/when I decide to get rid of the original stripes.

 

A few thoughts...

First, you can probably polish out any stains or waterspots in the stripes. The stripes on the mini seem very good quality.

Second, I doubt very much the dealer will foot the bill for the clear bra. I think you'd be lucky just to get them to pay for the stripes.

I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

Lamin-X now make a clear bra kit with cutouts for a Mini with stripes. So now the option of with or without strip kits are available. Cool. Here is the link...
