After looking at a lot of photos of stripes I found the space betwen the stripes is just as important as the width of the stripes.

there are a TON of COOPERS around downtown. Just to tease me since i'm miniless now. but i think they all know they get way better MPG's than S's down there!

That's actually a GOOD thing. I was also on a run this past weekend and of 27 MINI's, only 2 were MC's. Although several of the cars had tons of power, no catching up to Randy of M7, I could certainly hear his AGS system echoing in the canyons! Still it was a blast and I was out with the fastest cars--no problem.

Hot on the heels of an S Convertible

The other Cooper was a hyperblue CVT. Forgot the owners name, but he said he had no problems keeping up either. My front tires are toast--which reminds me--time to order new tires for the upcoming autox.

Chalk one up for "Just a Cooper"

I was at the Mini Meet East last week and had signed up for the Driving School at Summit point.
I believe there were only two Cooper there with the rest being S's and Classics.

I've changed my hood to an S hood ( after a incident with a 12point deer last fall ) and I don't think they figured it out until i was tailing a couple of the S's out there, some of them observed the passing *recomendations* and would let me by.
I can imagine they were not pleased when they realized they had been passed by "Just a Cooper"

Although some were not Sportsmen like and would not let me pass... !!
I would have to say I was not keen on letting someone by who could only catch me in the straights - i would then get stuck behind them in the corners :(

We were in a 4th of July parade this week and at less than 10 mph, we held our own with ALL the MCSs. LOL!

I have it on the side of my car in a big magnetic for autocross. Our local BMWCCA doesn't have a "Team or sponsor" listing on the sign-up forms, but if they did, I'd list it.

For now, I'm not doing SCCA solo II, simply because I feel I need seat time and lots of it, and around here BMWCCA is a much better option for that.

I'm the other MC on the ride with OctaneGuy. In the third picture, my MINI and I are just behind him on the left, the one with the black roof.

Remember, it's not how fast you are going when you are going fast, it's how slow you are going (or not going) when you are going slow that matters.

Sign me up.

I did another weekend at the kart track (in the MINI)... the overall results don't look that impressive, but I did improve my personal best time from a 1:02.9 to a 1:02.2 And, while I was going faster, things seemed to be happening more slowly. The only change to the car from my last trip there was that I put in Ferodod DS3000 front brake pads (race pads). They gave me a bit more braking power - more ABS showed up - but more importantly more consistent braking throughout the day.

Autocross at the end of the month, then Le Circuit Mont Tremblant early August.

That's always the way it is... smooth is fast and it seems slow! I notice that my best times at the autocross are always the runs where it felt like I was going slow...

Here's my Cooper in its natural habitat:

I'm not as far off-line as it looks in this picture, although I probably am a little early:

The downside to finding out that race brake pads are good things is that you have to switch back and forth:

Seeing these photos makes lowering my MINI tempting. Maybe next season I'll do coilovers.

You know, Stage1Scott swears by H-Sports and FSD's. He's had like 12,000 miles on his. Maybe you should give it a try.

You've already got H-Sports--just plug em in!

I sold my h-sports, plus if I lower again, I want to go lower than what the h-sports offer.

I don't know. Egguinn is riding on H-Sports and I am getting tired of the back up spikes hiting my underbelly. You go any lower than H-Sports you are going to have to recline your seat, smoke some mota and get a cool gangster name like "Casper".
