I wish we had a site where we had that much room. Our biggest is Wendover, and even there it's VERY old broken up concrete. It's tough to be able to use all of the room you have. I give it 5 more years and we won't be able to run there anymore, unless the site owners decide to fix it all up.

At the last event I did there I got into third twice each run and had a finish time around 114 seconds as I recall.

I remember Mark Ferguson (NAM founder) commenting on how torn up Wendover after a prosolo he did out there.

Another fun autocross last weekend. The full results aren't up, and there weren't any other MINIs out there this time.
I did hit my first cones of the season, though. One on my first run, which isn't a big deal. And one on my last run, as I was trying too hard. Somehow, that last run (not counting the cone) was 1 second faster (on a 35 second course). I need to look at the video of that run to see what I did.
Of course, everyone - even the karts - got schooled in a big way by a Miata that runs in SCCA stock class which set FTD. And the 180,000 miles Saturn coupe that's all stock except for tires was way up in the results too.

Wow. Nice work in the MC! Add to that that 2nd and 3rd looks like it could have really gone either way pretty easily. Is there anything special about that 1st place E36 driver?
When I was in the Rocky Mountain Chapter of BMWCCA a few years ago, those same BMW's you were up against would have been racing against the stock/lightly mod'd MCS's, not the MC's.

The top e36 M3 had a LOT of suspension work, some power mods and a very good driver, I guess. His times were actually a bit suspect, since he beat us by ~2.5 seconds - in other words, we're wondering if he's on the up and up about his mods (we work on the honor system). If the gap is that big next event, I'm certain someone will challenge his classing. His times were comparable with the next class up - highly, highly modded M3's running r-comps.
I'm racing against e36 M3's with all kids of mods - power and suspension. Most of the M3's are running TCKline, Ground Control/Koni, GC/AR, or other really pimped out setups. My current class is 2 classes above where the stock MCS' run and one class above where heavily modded MCS' and/or stock MCS' with r-comps run...

From Sunday I was 26th (38.328 seconds) and my wife 28th (39.165) out of 48 in raw times on a very fast course. PAX times we were 17th and 20th. A down pour thrown in the middle kept it really interesting. My wife's last run jumped her ahead by .307 over a 2005 Chevy Cobalt in our class which earned her second place, and broke 40 seconds for her first time of the day - I was so proud. A MCS was 16th (36.497), 7th PAX.
We finished ahead of: 2003 Mitsubishi EVO, 1991 Toyoya MR2, 2005 Mazda RX8, 2002 Pontiac Firebird, 1988 BMW 325, 1995 BMW 318ti, 2004 Chevrolet Corvette, 1989 Volkswagen Golf, 2000 BMW 328i, 2004 Dodge Neon SRT4, 1979 Chevy Malibu, 1976 Triumph Spitfire, and 1995 Geo Metro.

As you can see by the list in this part of Iowa it is not JustaCooper, it is JustaMINI too.
Now how many giants would we get with R-compounds . . . .
