Rotors were replaced today.

Downtown Mini called last week and told me my replacement rotors were in. I made my appointment for the 14th at 8am. I got there by 7:30 and had some Downtown Mini coffee and they took my car in a 8:am and I was done by 8:30 and on my way back to Daytona. Of course the new rotors look like the old ones but they really are larger when compared. The exhaust tips were OK and did not need changing at all. I'm happy I'm done.

Just curious...They must have changed more then the rotors...you cant put on bigger rotors because the calipers are hard mounted and would not fit. Either the origional rotor was so small that the brake pads did not make full contact or they changed the knuckle that the caliper is mounted to...do you know I am curious..

They did replace the rotors.

Hi Red Bull,
They replaced the rotors and I'm guessing they probably replaced whatever else needed to be replaced. I really do not feel any difference in the braking at all. I only have 1,200 miles on my JCW and 1/2 of them are highway miles. They also checked my exhaust tips but I did not want them any shorter then they are. They are even with the rear bumper now. I would think if they were shorter then what they are the car would fill up with exhaust fumes while sitting at a long traffic light. The service was excellent and I was asked if I needed anything else repaired while I was there. I can not find anything else at all that needed dealer attention. I will be at the Space Coast car show Sat.(tomorrow) If you come please look me up. I will be entered. Ronnie948

How did you determine you had the wrong rotors on the car?

Got a letter from BMW about rotors

I drove over to Downtown Mini a couple of weeks ago to pick up some oil and a filter. While I was there they checked my exhaust to see if it needed replacing. They informed me the rotors were the wrong size so they ordered the replacements right away. They called me the same day my letter came and informed me the rotors I needed were in so I made my appointment and they took care of the rotors. The Exhaust tips were OK and even with my bumper so I asked not to have them any shorter because I was afraid if they are to short the car will fill up with exhaust fumes at a long stoplight. They did ask if anything else needed repair while I was in the shop. I thought that was really good of them to ask. I can't find a thing wrong with this car at all so that was not a problem.
