Need break job ASAP - what components to buy?

Hi all,
Today discovered that my front outside pads have worn to zero (0) ! Sensor didn't trigger for some reason and now i need to replace pads and rotors in the front.

I know that I can go OEM route at dealer or independent shop, but I'm thinking to do it myself and wonder if any other brand of pads and rotors are any good?

I've seen people here mention they buy some super cheap rotors and pads, but I'm really curious if they are good or "you get what you pay for"?

Brakes - Akebono pads, Centric rotors and OEM sensor is my preferred parts. If you didn't own the car from new, possibly the last guy shorted out the sensor to save $20, that is why I am against not putting in new parts. Several other brands will be mentioned, I like the pads because almost zero brake dust. Rotors seem to be of good quality and don't seem to rust.

I just did the rear brakes on my wifes mini last Sat. and wanted them done on the same day.
I did not pre-order any parts so I was at mercy with the local auto part stores.

Had the rotors turned at Napa, they could not get pads or rotors until monday.
O'Rielly's had pads and a sensor in stock.

Also had to rent a caliper compression tool from Autozone.

We use the EBC Red pads on all our brake jobs in the shop with our WMW rotors this has been a great combo that we don't have issues with.

Yes when you buy cheap brakes you get what you pay for. Fri I had a clubman in that just had brakes done a month ago at a cheapo brake shop. The rotors where all rusting, but the rt front was actually warped making a terrible noise under braking. The customer maybe save $50 having the place do it that did, but now it will have to be redone already so isn't worth the saving. Do it right the first time.

I'm looking at

Zimmermann Coated Z rotors
Textar pads (OEM maker?)
PEX or OEM sensor.

ALl from PelicanParts since they are closer than other shops and I can get parts quicker. I can't use car until new breaks are in, so this is pretty important.

Ok, just read that Textar have a lot of dust. Thinking Akebono now, but looks like my year 2006 Convertible falls onto a period when breaks were changed out on the model year, so there are two different part numbers. How can i find out which one? Anyone knows?

For that car if you need everything this would be the EBC kit for you.
http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmwredbrakepackageR53.html

We have the Akebonos too
http://www.waymotorworks.com/akebono-brake-pads.html

We offer the Textar Ceramics, but it's not what we would recommend
http://www.waymotorworks.com/textar-...0-r52-r53.html

If time is your concern we ship very quickly as you could get your order as early as Wed from us with out standard ground shipping.

QUESTION: do I have to replace the sensor when I replace the rotors and pads?
OR can I use the old ones
Thanks in advance

The sensor will be worn.
Some just by pass it.
A new one is only $12-$20.
