If you have the app, there's no reason not to try it. On the new cars it is no longer on the shifter "ring". I believe it is now a toggle switch in the row with the ignition switch.

Thanks it doesn't have the toggle either it's a MY17 so would be a dial one ..... it doesn't have the driving modes and now the Mrs knows it can pop n bang in Sport but can't switch modes she's sent me on a mission to see if we can access it.

might just have to have a play with Bindfire and see what's in there.

Yeah I say give it a shot. If anything, if it doesnt work it wont do anything. You always have a backup to fall back on too

(disclaimer .... dont blame me if you screw anything up )

Is it possible to enable paddle shifters and sport transmission with new Bimmercode update?

I sent an email to BimmerCode support last week about the sports transmission and Stephan replied that "transmission ECU is not supported at the moment".

I think I read it here somewhere that you can use BimmerCode to activate the paddles.

Interesting. There's someone else who retrofitted the UJ tails to his U.S. car and they function very oddly. Did your car already have the LED tails (although, the pre-LCI tails were really only partial LED)? I'm wondering if that's the difference.

^Yes, as previously mentioned in this thread, there are two different part numbers for UJ tail lights, kfmuller got the EU version of UJ tail lights and fitted them to his US car and they function fine, same as in EU. I got the US version of UJ tail lights and fitted them to my US car and they require some coding to make them work as intended. When you activate a turn signal and then apply brakes the turn signal turns solid red instead of blinking - that's the only thing that needs to be fixed.

Okay folks. This is becoming more about parts compatibility and function than coding. I suggest you start a dedicated thread for the subject rather than continuing in this thread.

I'm sorry but I'd have to respectfully disagree, there's no physical difference in the connector - both part numbers have the same connector so it must be a coding that's different to make them work. Us with US spec UJ tail lights need help with the coding and that's why I came to this forum and this thread - to ask for help with the coding. I didn't want to start a whole new thread about it since we have so much explained in this thread already but if you want me to I'll open up a new thread just for this?

Why would you do that, other than getting non DDC struts.
In which case its a hardware bypass.

Union Jack lights are now coded and working properly

I got ahold of Okee from codemycar.com. He tapped into mine over the internet and worked till he got it right. It now operates as it should here in the United States. If anyone needs help he can get it done for a great price. Contact Okee and let him know I sent ya.

Question for esys. What happens when you code fdl from the right click menu instead of read coding data. It seemed to reset all my programmed changes, does it do anything else?

That's great! So presumably he knows how to separate the brake/turn functions for the US, like they are in Europe/UK from the factory?

Yes as you can see they now work great.

JCW Tach and Gear Selection in HUD

I can confirm that this coding works for the:

JCW Tach and Gear Selection in HUD

HU_NBT > EXPERT MODE > HUD_SPORTANZEIGE_ENABLE, HUD_SPORTANZEIGE_FES_ENABLE, and HUD_SPORTANZEIGE_MS_GASSE_ENABLE to AKTIV.

Code

Then
KOMBI > EXPERT MODE > FZG_Aussttang,HUD _SPORTANZEIGE_ENABLE, HUD_SPORTANZEIGE_FES_ENABLE, and HUD_SPORTANZEIGE_MS_GASSE_ENABLE to AKTIV.

Code

So Cool!

I had to cycle the ignition twice to get rid of the error message.

Is the only way to know what the different splash screens are is to just enable them one by one? I was wondering which one is for the John Cooper Works.

Anyone know if it's possible to get the JCW tach and gear HUD display on a F55S. Reason I ask is because there is no F55 JCW...

For retrofit of UK UJ Tail Lights on my 2015 US Mini Cooper S, I needed to code the following:

Rear left and right LED turn signals:

BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_L_IS_LED change to aktiv

BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / FRA_H_R_IS_LED change to aktiv

Rear Lights:

BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_L_IS_LED change to aktiv

BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BL_R_IS_LED change to aktiv

Rear Brake Lights:

BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_L_IS_LED change to aktiv

BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG change to nicht_aktiv
BDC_BODY / 3061 / BFD_R_IS_LED change to aktiv

This removed the warning message in the dash and the flicker on the lights at startup. The UK version of the UJ lights function without additional programming.

If you installed the amber turn signal UK lights your emergency brake force display is now incorrect, and possibly dangerous.

I just installed the UK version of the UJ taillights on my 2017 US F56 MCS. They work as advertised. The only thing that needed coding was the brake light malfunction warning that came on. I had to code out the voltage monitoring for the L & R rear twilight brakes. I did it with Carly and everything is perfect now. Also coded the BFD to activate at 30 miles and got rid of that stupid disclaimer. Works like a charm.
Been looking for a method to code the turn signals to work "sequentially" for lack of a better word. I saw a video (which I can't find any more) on youtube of a guy in Japan that did this. It looked wicked.
