Mini_Vinnie did you have any issues coding your car after installing the tune?

I just finished up with my tune this weekend so coding is my next "mod" to be performed. I kinda doubt it will cause any issues but figure best to ask beforehand.

Thanks man

Nope, no issues at all. The recent BimmerCode update brought back the ability to silence the seatbelts so I’m a happy camper

Anyone know if BimmerCode can adjust C_Funktion_Differenzialsperre_aktiv_l? E-Sys is such a pain, and I see everything I like to tweak except for that listed on their site. I'm due for a scheduled service soon, and have had fairly poor luck with my coding remaining afterwards. I wish I could say "please don't flash my car during the oil change" without seeming suspicious, but my dealership is mod unfriendly so it is what it is.

You are well within your "right" to tell them not to flash it. Its your car.

I tell them that everytime and also tell them that I am waiting for the oil change. Usually, the dealerships are behind from the second service opens so not having them wait for the coding saves them a lot of time

coding for new tailights

Hi guys, im new around here. I recently purchased a set of union jack taillights for my 2014 f56. Seems they are coded different here in the states and my turn signals and brake lights use the same leds on the new lights.
There has to be a way to code them to work properly. I have carly and hasnt done a thing besides remove the "lamp out warnings". As you see in the first and second pictures. in the UK the horizontal bar is for the turn signals and the verticle bar is the brake lights. Third picture shows the issue here in the united states. When i use the turn signal itll flash till i step on the brake then itll go solid. Not the safest way to ride. Thanks Gary

Did your car have the LED ring on the original tail lights?
If not, no amount of coding will work. Its a wiring thing.

Convert your video from HEVC (H265) to something more compatible LIKE H264.

I think the problem is the age of your Mini, all F56's are not created equal. I say this as I saw last night a 2018 F56 with the new tail lights installed, he had codded out by a guy in LA the one error he was getting and everything else works perfectly. It would make sense as there are constant changes to cars even within a specific model designation.

I have a 2018 and may do this at some point, after all the early adopters have figured out everything, the supply is in the USA and BimmerCode has it ready to code. They are not that cool to go through what you are dealing with.

Good luck.

that would normally make sense, but the part number for the factory lights are still coming up to fit the 2018 models here.

I thought you had posted yours was an earlier F56, sorry.

His was a 2018, like the Euro people that have done the swap his was flawless except for the bulb warning light.

i just saw a video in japan of an F57 doing the tail light swap and no problems.

the only thing i can guess, and it literally is a guess, is to see if perhaps an ecu software update would help?

edit: take it back. coding will fix this! as for what code, that is what i'm trying to find out. this is the same japanese company i originally got my CF lip 2 years ago. i'll see if i can pull a string and see if they tell me what they coded.

I installed my Union Jack tail lights this morning. The lights worked perfectly right out of the box. I got indicator and brake malfunction errors. Used Bimmercode to code the indicators to LED and not monitor which corrected that error. My brake lights were already set to not monitor and as LED, so not sure where to go. I switched adaptive brake lights to not monitor and to LED, but that didn't correct the issue. I didn't experience the issue with the turn and brake lights like the person above. Mine is a 2016 JCW built in July 2015.

Got everything installed, and coded out the errors with Bimmercode.

Coded the indicators in the basic mode - to not monitor and set to LED.

Then, Stephan from Bimmercode gave me the following to do in expert mode:

BL_R_IS_LED => aktiv
BL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG => nicht_aktiv
BL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG => nicht_aktiv

BL_L_IS_LED => aktiv
BL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG => nicht_aktiv
BL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUN => nicht_aktiv
