Need your help.... I only have a few hours...

Hey guys... I am getting my windows tinted tomorrow and I will be dropping the vehicle off before they open tomorrow morning. I'm writing a note to the guy just in case he is not familiar with how to start the F56. As I am writing this note I realize that when you close the door the windows come down slightly is there a way to cancel this or will this effect the tint... as you're not to roll down the windows for about a week. My husband believes that the windows don't come down enough to make a difference. What have been your experiences when getting your windows tinted? This is my first Mini so I am unsure if this is a new function with the F56.

The tinters know to hold down the latch in the door jam with the door open to fool the car into thinking the door is closed so the window will go up into the closed position.

The auto slight up and down isn't an issue after tinting. The full up and down is to be avoided. Furthermore, a whole week seems to be far too long. 2-3 days is likely enough, but YMMV.

Mine did without being instructed. But I'm sure that they wouldn't mind being shown since a toggle switch is unusual.

Good luck! Please keep us posted and show us pictures when it is completed

my tint guy opened the door and in the door jamb, flipped the closing mechanism so the door thought it was closed....this allowed the window to move up to the fully up position....they then tinted the window and when they were done, they flipped it back down so that it could close.

and as many have said, the 1/2-1" drop in height isnt' enough to damage the tint.

Thanks guys.... I really appreciate the quick response. I will definitely post pics once she is tinted. :-) I can't wait to get it done, not only because she will look hot... but also I never realized how much I NEED tint on my windows until I was without it.
