Okay y'all, I'm bumping this thread. I know, I know...winter doesn't officially start for a couple of weeks; however, 12-1 is considered the "meteorological" beginning of winter and since I am a weather geek that's close enough for me.

Plus, I see snow on the ground outside my window and it is freaking cold out today (10 F at my place this morning ).

So post whatever is on your mind in here. Let's keep the conversation flowing.

I've been mulling that over. I haven't had a chance to look at other options. Are you sure there's a car wash close by????????????????

MINI dmv has been laid to rest since I can't retrieve any of it login information so I'm back but I go by another handle now.....Smokin' Jo.
Not too sure on how my MINI plans will turn out for the next year but I'm hopeful. Looking to do some modifications for the new year.
I gotta work on uploading some photos real soon.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.
Happy Holidays so as to not offend the offenders.

Thanks for the heads-up on your new NAM handle, and for tagging the other MINIs. The more the merrier!

Have fun digging out...

BTW, the Cars are one of my fav classic rock bands.

I wish I was, but I am up here in C.R. setting at my desk waiting for cars to pull on the service drive here at McGraths, I really doubt there are going to be many... enjoy the snow everyone.

I cleared off half my driveway so I could get out and buy some new winter gloves. Bring on the snow! I'm ready now!

Very glad the snow blower decided to start tonight...very glad...

Walts has brand new Winterforce's sitting in the garage waiting to be put on, but unfortunately the snow hit before I could get out and now Walt can go anywhere because summer tires and snow do not work.

Gozer is safely tucked in the garage. We had our adventure Monday when I drove to Coralville (shopping- tis the season). Discovered that the summer bug wash in the wiper reservoir freezes! Bought some de-ice kind in Anamosa. Just kept pulling over and pouring it on the windshield periodically. Took her through a car wash in Coralville where the blow dry feature finally thawed it. Pumped the summer washer through until I emptied it then added the winter kind. And of course I didn't need the washer once all the way home! Ahh, winter in Iowa

I had a mishap in my MINI. Apparently my son has broke a piece off of the armrest down where it hinges next to the rear seats. .
I had my first stuck in the snow the other day. it happened in my ex's driveway. the beauty part is she dug me out.

I'm thinking of starting a petition for submission to the city government. No more sand, salt, or nasty chemicals need to be applied to the streets.

I'd much rather deal with packed snow (which is clean) than all of the brown muck that gets created (and then soils my poor MINI) as a result. Really, you'd think they'd be more considerate of us trying to keep our cars clean...

Top Gear is my favorite TV show.

I've been downloading the current season shows from the web and watching them on my Blackberry on the plane during business travel to help pass the time. They are massive files (~700 Mb) but it's well worth the hassle.

Amen, amen!

We were just out in Omaha over the weekend. Left on Friday morning. We counted 45 vehicles in the ditch on 380 between C.R. & Coralville. Then we counted 91 cars, 11 semis and 1 boat between Coralville & Des Moines. From Des Moines to Omaha there were 45 cars plus 10 semis. 151 & 380 were awful yet Friday morning. 80 was clear. But absolutely had to run her through a carwash by Sunday morning. Horribly dirty. We spent Sunday night in Des Moines and Monday morning the doors were frozen shut from the freezing rain they had. Finally got the driver's side door open and Tom had to crawl over to get in the passenger seat. It was warmer as we headed East and the door finally thawed. It is only December 15th and we are so ready for spring!
