Lucky car! Our hose is disconnected at home for the winter, so I have to drive 20 miles to a car wash. I am hoping to get mine into town today or tomorrow. Bad thing is that she usually gets all slopped up on the drive home!

I just visited Front Street Brewery in the QCA this weekend. My first time there, pretty good food an brews, of course my favorite brewery in the QCA would be Bent River. Looking forward to all the things to come this year!

Everyone have a safe and fun New Years!!!

Snow 0 Cooper 1

Oh yeah baby, I was crying weeks ago because I got stuck up the hill three times and I couldn't get anywhere! I was so dissapointed, I thought I bought the wrong car. lol.

So i came here and asked around and of course there are so many threads, but everyone suggested SNOW TIRES! Well, I looked them up and I spoke to Alex over at Tire Rack and he recommended the blizzack, so I did it, I bought them, ws60's. (I researched the tires I had on, they weren't even all season tires!!)

Boy, ALex had them to me on my bday, the next day i ordered them! I got a new job and I can't afford being late on my probation period because of stupid hills! So i installed them the next day, wow what a difference! Most important of all though, I could get up the hill, and keep going until i reached the street! (They dont plow or salt where I am at). So I wanna thank everyone here who is always so helpful and Alex for delivering some of the best service I have seen.

p.s. I finally understand and can experience when the cooper owners say "play in the snow"!!

ittle85 -- everyone's welcome in our EIM chat room, but I suspect you meant to post your reply in another thread (unless you've been a sneaky stealth Iowan ).

Got my new tires mounted and balanced on my summer wheels yesterday. The local Goodyear shop guys were careful enough that the wheels survived without any new dings or scratches. Now the end table next to the sofa in my garage is Yokohama brand instead of Hankook.

It's going to make the coming Spring that much more exciting...looking forward to trying out the new shoes!

Incidentally, in Decorah we're close to the all-time record snow fall for the month of December. We had 30.7 inches through last Saturday (and picked up another half-inch or so last night). The record is 32 inches. Sunny today though, so we'll likely fall short.

Happy New Year everyone!

Ok, I scouted out some places and my choice would be Kelly's Irish Pub on 53rd St. Davenport. However, the Front Street Brewery that "Walt" mentioned is a neat little place. There is parking across the street I'm just not sure how well they would do with 20-30 people as a group. I guess it's worth a call. Happy New Year & Motor safely!

Notoriety without responsibility or accountability.

I'm just glad we have a handful of local MINIs who intend to participate.

I'd say it's a misprint. No way it could have that much value unless it was carrying a few bars of Italian gold in the boot. Probably supposed to be $19K+ instead...that's my guess.

haha

i watched the italian job the other night and i noticed that the red car is the only S and that the blue and white ones are just coopers...

also the boot/bonnet light and the air bag light is on during all the scenes, also the blue car has a dent in the side of it at the beginning, and i don't know why..

I've seen a few JCW that have all the factory JCW components runing in the $60+ rang. Quite expensive.

I believe that's actually the paint code for the BMW match up paint. I could be wrong but I think thats all that means.

So I escape the IA winter for a few days in the DC area and what do I get? A half-inch of ice and school/business closings all over the place! Everyone is blaming me for bringing the weather with me from the Midwest...

At least The Italian Job remake was on FX last night.
