EIM Wintertime Chat Room

Hello out there...

No posts from y'all EIMers in over a week. Getting lonely.

I figured that since our opportunities to get together will be more limited over the next few months due to weather, I decided to start this thread just for friendly group banter.

Here's a place to chat about whatever is on your mind.

What's up? Winter tires on yet? (I'm holding out until T-giving weekend )

Let's hear from you!

Hey all,

Been REALLY busy lately and no time to hit the message boards.

Have had Belle a year last May and still enjoy driving her. Did get the winter tires on last weekend when we woke up with snow. We have a very steep driveway and any little snow/ice makes it very hard to make it up the hill.

Take care.

BTW mixdorfs, did you know you have a twin in your town? A great couple with another LiB/W MCS that joined up with us for our two most recent motoring events.

You'll have to keep an eye out for them!

My car needs a bath so bad! The weather is not cooperating. She is getting rained on right now. It is going to be a long winter! I will need this thread just to keep my spirits up.

We can always hope that it will be a mild & short winter......... can't we?

Oh well.... Let's hope we can have a get together of some sort to help break the monotony.

Yes, it's days like today that I relent and take Jan's Subie on my errands. The MINI can stay clean and dry in the garage.

You can plan on it. The snow didn't deter us from consuming mass "tomato flying" quantities at Wig-n-Pen last winter...

Food and drink always manages to draw a crowd!

so when and where should we make our winter lunch?

We could order a few Pizza's from Wig-n-pen for delivery somewhere arround IC
or there is a great Irish pub down town with parking garrage to keep out of the wind atleast
or there is other locations arround the state

Lets just decide so we can all get together again

I put on Molly's winter shoes last week. We had a lot of fun in the snow last winter. She's a very good skater Actually looking forward to it.

NICE D3mON!! I can't wait till you get the megan so i can hear it! if you need any help installing it just give me a buzz and i'd be glad to lend a helping hand. I am also interested at the redline oil so let me know what you think. Also i just realized i've had my MINI a little over a year now (1 year, 1 week and 4 days to be exact)!!

I actually see a tiny patch of blue sky off to the northwest this morning...

D3m0N and Miah, suggest you find a lift somewhere to do the catback. When the WMW guys installed mine out at MITM, they had my MINI as high as it could go on jackstands. The ramp surface shook every time someone drove by. I was really nervous when the guys were completely under the car working on it.

I am just going to go with my all-season run flats for this winter. I am looking forward to seeing how she runs in the snow. With no heat or water in my garage and no car wash in town, she will just have to go longer between baths. Those far from white wheels bring out the OCD in me!

I am also going to be redecorating my bathroom in the MINI theme. Starting my day with that should cheer me up every morning!

I am definitely looking forward to a winter meet and eat!

Great to have you both aboard! I'm sure we'll try and have a couple of centrally located "meet-n-eats" over the winter so we can stay connected and get thoroughly psyched up for a new motoring season...so stay tuned!

Does anyone know if the Goodyear GW3 winters have a size that will fit 17's and if not what brand do you guys recommend. Blizzaks or Alpin or Continental? BTW I have finally received and installed my Alta Intake. After three hours I got it all down and after seeing the way they had it setup from the factory, it was really restrictive. The only place taking in air was a small opening of about 3 inches in circumference just next to the driver's side headlight. Planning for the turbo inlet and boost tubes and then probably the intercooler. On sale for 50% right now but not sure if its a good product. Anyone have any thoughts. Hope to see you all real soon.
