Organized ME ? LOL I only went back one page, 16 posts and noiced that one which you posted almost 3 .5 months ago. A good example of how much this thread fell off the interest list. Time goes by fast when your looking for info. So anybody, class , Buelher ?

MY DYNO'S FROM SCMM DYNO DAY 8/11/07

MODS: 15%, Alta intake, OBX and catback, RMW head (stock injectors), MTH tune (less power than stock IMHO), stock redline.

JCW's and a GP were about 20 to 27 hp. less on the same dyno, same conditions that day.

I was running 91 octane.

The difference was the RMW head IMHO.

Another S had 6 Hp more and 4 ft lbs. tq. more. It's mods were:

M7/Cosworth cylinder head w/Shrick cam, M7/Cosworth Ported & Polished Intake Manifold, M7 Ported & Polished Supercharger, M7 400CC Injectors, M7 AGS Pro V3 Intake w/Carbon Fiber Heat Shield, M7 62mm throttle body , M7 Polished DFIC (Direct Flow Intercooler) /with scoop, M7 Super Sport Header, Custom Volt Exhaust System, M7/MTH Custom ECU Upgrade, M7 16% Technology SC Pulley, M7 2% Light Weight Crank Pulley, Denso Iridium IK24 Spark Plugs

It's fuel was "a little of this and a little of that"!

An 07 S had 179 hp and 200 ft lb tq.

Much is new on my car but sadly my enthusiasm is down for the car....... I have a Ducati Multistrada coming next week and many of my jaunts through the mountains this fall will be on that.

My car..... I have removed the 62 and gone back to a 45... the car has been at the shop for about 2 months. I get it back tomorrow. LDG will tune it and we are estimating 235-240 whp. .... which is plenty for me, thank you.

The reason I have not posted is obvious.... the key is in the tune and there has not been a solid way to tune it available....at least not readily accessable..... several of the cars like Msfitoy are awaiting tunes and frankly there is no real rush the cars run nice without the tune just not at maximum..... not to mention John is 10-11 hrs away... not exactly around the block from Atlanta

when I get it back, as soon as I reasonably can I will make the trip (2nd time) to LDG..... John is going to tune it... I will post the results... after that I may sell the car or keep it ... I really don't know..... the 62 mess has left me rather worn out for/with my Mini.....

I have just installed a quaiffe, a new clutch and flywheel so I have been somewhat interested in how that is going to feel....

Is this is the dyno sheet from your car with the mods listed above?

If so, not bad, but still way down from 231 with almost the exact same setup here...

actually it's about both....

we make it on the dyno then prove it on the track

I am sure my 2 total track days makes me an instant Michael Schumacher

there are many that have the head but probably won't post here due to people like yourself. Why would you want to come here and be given grief when you can be out driving and enjoying the new found power?

Numbers vary widely from dyno to dyno. They are a tool for comparison. Looking at one vehicle versus another or the same vehicle under the same ambient conditions on the same dyno can give insight into a car's relative performance or lack thereof.

A tuner or parts seller can say it gives x, y or z numbers. That is almost meaningless marketing mumbo-jumbo. Without knowing the rest of the story - whether "corrected", what gear run in, what ambient onditions, whether air was run over, under, around or thru the intercooler, whether water was sprayed on intercooler or whether ice was put on it, the gas octane, and lots of other things are stated, the bare numbers are really deceptive to the uninformed non-critical thinker.

Paul Webster makes the point, pointedly, that actual performance on the road, under similar circumstances, is what matters, not numbers that people throw out.

I posted my numbers so a little piece of comparative information could be shared. Use it for what it's worth, if anything.

I have the RMW head and complete exhaust system. My car definitely has more HP and TQ. It's an automatic so is a little harder to find someone that knows how to dyno it. Most of the time it's kind of a guess.

I didn't read past this. I am a huge moto guy. I record and watch every form of moto racing around the world. I have been riding since I was five. I rode sport bikes for years. Nice pick spider.

Now I ride this:

Lots of mods. Its getting lowered this week. It turns like cr#P but pulls like a tractor.

wow. hope Peter is sending you a regular paycheck....you've been such a cheerleader with the hood scoop thread it's ironic you post something like this here. maybe you should ask him why he went quiet about the <bust> that was the M62....haven't heard any hype about that have we.

So to summerize we have a thread started about an amazing dyno result showing a 38 hp gain for a head only . Now six months later there is only one recent post of results which was from a dyno day where the big valve head was out performed by a stock valved head by a few HP.I was only curious as to the lack of info but now the original reason for this 58+ page thread has changed to track performance. Go figure

Why do "some" people always have to come in start stuff??????? Trackster is adressing Jan and know one else. And Jan is doing a good job of explaining it to him.

comparing 1 dyno to the next is pointless

it's the delta that matters

when I get time I will go dyno on a dyno that everyone knows is high to prove a point... for the time being we have cars to tune

+1 My mechanic has always said " you need to go back to the same dyno" to get accurate results.

Agreed, the post I quoted implied that a car with a stock head out pulled the car with your head (without a tune/injectors/RMW full exhaust), when the post clearly said the car that pulled the most probably had a gallilion dollars worth of m7 stuff and was also tuned.
