DT BPV Installed Today, WOW!!!

Well I ordered my DT BPV on Thursday and recieved it on Saturday. I decided to install the valve today. The instructions were very clear and to the point that Detroit Tuned sent with the BPV. I only ran into one problem, and that was the clamp holding the BPV. I had to cut it away and buy a new one because the clip to release the stock one was not reachable. Anyway it took me about 4 hours with a lunch break. I feel I can easily do it now in 1-2 hours. It is definately possible for anyone to do this job with the right tools. As far as the results, WOW, what a difference. The throttle response is much quicker and the car boosts alot quicker. The car definately seems quicker to me, for sure. I have some really cold weather here right now, so I am sure that is contributing to the quickness of the car, but I at least got one more pound of boost. The car gets to 18 psi with no problem. It took alot of effort for my car to get to 18 psi before but now it is easy. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to make their car more responsive. Also a big to Chad over at Detroit Tuned. I called him three times with questions during the install and everytime he took time out to answer all my questions. Thanks alot Chad. If anyone is unsure if they want to do this mod, I would suggest doing it and talk to Chad, he will explain this product to you in great detail. Also, Chad sent me the new MC2 magazine along with some Detroit Tuned decals. I am very impressed with the shipping, customer service, and products from Detroit Tuned. A+ in my book.

I had the same thing.

And much improved Vacum !
And because of that better highway mileage.
I an SURE my valve was bad and don't know if a new stocker would have done similar.

But really happy I did the Detriot

PS: I am running both DT.BPV & VGS

Its cool isn't it.

I gave the VGS a try too. I thought it was a little wierd when I first installed it. I was not sure I liked it with the DT BPV. I drove around with it on for about 5 days. I reversed the VGS and now I think I miss it.... I am not so sure my car was better with just the DT BPV now. I should of made the tubes longer so I could easily hook it up and unhook the VGS for testing.

Oh well... Next time.

I agree my vacuum is higher also. I compared the stocker to the DTBPV and the DT valve is completely shut and the stocker had some opening to it. I can't beleive what a difference this part made to my car. What is the VGS, and does anyone recommend installing this with the DT BPV, pros and cons? Maybe if Chad is reading this he can chime in.

do a search for VGS
or I do have printed instructions, that I can email or fax to you.

In a nut shell it changes where the vac is "sourced" that is used to work the BPV.
Less than $5 in parts and about 1/2 an hour to do (only because you need to remove the IC).
It is reversable.
