Drivetrain what would it cost for JCW mods but aftermarket
Not true. Add the injectors and a slightly reworked head.
From all the cars we have tested,
our modified cars:
(15% pulley, Larini cat back, Dinan intake, JCW flash)
performed as well or better as all the JCW cars we had in the shop.
I understand those of you who purchased the JCW package with your brand new car, that made a lot of sense because of the warranty,
However after the warranty expires, or on a used car, it does not make sense to go JWC.

The head and injectors add minimal power -- The upgrades listed by Saygoodbye will bring the power up to and probably past the JCW mark.
I can say this because at our club dyno day we had 2 "stock" JCW's that put out about 165 WHP ( Wheel Horse Power ) on a mustang dyno. My car - an 04 MCS with the mods in my sig - put out 172 WHP --- Saygoodbye's MINI put out over 180 WHP.
The only thing you gain with the JCW are warranty and little smoother package.
The other option is a Dinan package - less $$ than JCW and you still have a warranty.
Good luck

First I bought my wife a beautiful pepper white/black MCS JCW. The only thing we've added aftermarket is a K&N CAI. Eveything else is OEM or factory optional. She loves it and barely lets me touch it... So I got one for my self. A barely used MCS owned by a BMW mechanic. When I liberated it from him it had these performance mods:
17% pulley
CAI
Oil Catch Can
Borla Sport exhaust
According to both my wife and myself, my 'lightly' modded MCS was much quicker than her stock JCW. Of course that was never enough for a terminal tinkerer like me... I'm @ 218 whp and still tinkering...

I have pretty much the same config.: Helix 15% pulley, JCW intake and JCW exhaust, plugs and JCW flash.
I will have Helix installed the JCW injectors this coming Monday. I will see if Eric can hook me up with his dyno on the day. I will post the update.

You do not need all these mods
We recommend the JCW flash to all customers who have a 15% pulley installed.
but to take full advantage of the flash, you need the exhaust and the intake in addition of the pulley

Pulley/exhaust/intake/flash will bring you up to JCW level. But, uhm, a head and injectors (especially with a proper tune) will not add minimal power. It will ad quite a bit of power. Probably to the tune of about 20-30 whp.
My 2 cents worth. Here in oz, the JCW kit is an added $9000-10000. In the paper today, the journos reckon 2nd hand MCS JCW is only worth $2000-3000 more then the equivalent MCS. Talk about depreciation....
SHRTSTAK you are correct,
the 15% pulley, intake, exhaust and flash will bring you to JCW levels.
a good head with a good tune will bring a lot more hp....
but as you know, the more power, the less reliability

I know you and i butt heads every now and then... and I am not trying to bicker with you but saying that more power = less reliablity is a GROSS overstatement.
You can make more power, and make it just as reliable. The addition of a cylinder head and injectors will not make the car unreliable.
WE have built many cooper S's with cylinder heads with LOTs of track miles and have had ZERO failures.
In other words, adding a cylinder head will not make your car have SO much power that it is unreliable.
We are talking about "stock" JCW parts -- with the mods I have I am producing more WHP than the 2 JCW cars tested the same day on the same dyno. So... you can make a S produce equal power for alot less $$ then the JCW kit using aftermarket parts and not using the JCW head or injectors.
That being said - if you do add a aftermarket head and injectors and get the proper tune you will be making alot more WHP then a car without a aftermarket head and injectors -- more air + fuel = more power
My comment was that the JCW head & injectors do not add huge power gains by themselves with the JCW tune - and you can achieve the same power levels as a "stock" JCW car without the extra expense of a JCW head & injectors.
