New 1st time Mini JCW Clubman

Hi All!

I just picked up a 2010 JCW clubman with 65k. Has the maintenance package through mini until April next year.

I've been wanting a JCW for the last 5 years and have talked myself out of it the last 3 cars because of space, practicality, etc.

This time I found a local JCW clubman and it is loaded out to the max with features. I couldn't be happier except the previous owner had a aftermarket post cat with the factory JCW exhaust and it's a bit loud for my liking with my son in the back. Anyone have any suggestions for a factory JCW cat?

Thanks again and if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't of pulled the trigger! 😀

Jason

Welcome to NAM! Great looking JCW! Might be able to find someone local willing to swap their OEM for yours if you have more information on it.

Let us know if you want to upgrade the lighting.

Welcome to Clubman world

Don't forget to review the Clubman site where most of us stay.

Congrats on the JCW Clubman, you have a rare body kit, Hypersport Aero ( JCW Sport Aerodynamic ) kit from the factory. Very nice find.

R55 Clubman section is here:

Welcome to NAM, Jason! Congratulations. As for the cat, try maybe posting in the classified section of the forum here that you're WTB (willing to buy) the factory cat. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the input in the classifieds and about the body kit! I thought it looked slightly different than the normal clubman but wasn't sure.

Love driving this car more and more everyday.

Only thing that isn't my favorite is the darty steering after you go over a decent bump.

The dealership I bought it from put on a brand new set of Bridgestone run flats but I don't think they aligned it. Could that be the issue?

Thanks!

Thats most likely the bump steer a bit. The runflats tend to ride harder and you can feel everything in the road. It will need aligned or you will get unusual wear on the tire down the road.

My pleasure. If you don't have much luck there try searching on www.car-part.com and see what you can find. Anytime I get new tires put on my car, I get an alignment. Run flats do tend to be a bit more of a harsher ride, but get an alignment first and see if that resolves your issue.

There's a clubman facebook group as well that you'll need to join. I'm thinking lots of people would swap you a down pipe for a cat in your local area. Seems everyone wants DP's. Where r u?

Nice car.

I'm never on Facebook anymore but definitely want to join the clubman page. What should I search for?

Thanks for the tips on the alignment.

I'm hoping once I can get under the car I'll be able to list some info on the cat that I have and someone would want to trade me for their oem jcw cat.

I'm in Cincy.

Thanks for all the replies!

Welcome. If you have a MINI dealership do the alignment they can do the proper way for about the same price as many other discount tire places. Some MINI dealerships even have service coupons on there sites. Also they use the weight method and do it right.
