Oh, here's the car, with the rain/dirt sludge from the construction going on outside my workplace. I'll get it cleaned up and post more!




Planning on blacking out the chrome soon, trying to decide on replacing the trim, or vinyl wrapping it. I'd like to have gloss black, for sure though.

I vinyl wrap chrome trim on all my cars. Cheap, easy, and reversible. As long as it's a good wrap job, can't tell that it was simply a wrap.

 

Welcome to NAM! Lots of members have done a wrap on their trim. I think it would look great. I'm a big fan of the black on black look.

 

Welcome, if you can wrap it the 1080 3M gloss black matches well otherwise if you dont like to wrap you can get the Genuine MINI parts for the front and rear head lights. Top grille trim will fit the bottom JCW black trim will need a slight mod for the LCI+ bumper.

I was planning on replacing the parts, but after my research a complete blackout is going to run me upwards of $300. Seems like I can get a 5x2' roll of 3M 1080 for about $30. Only concern there is the door handles, I may have to just get black covers for those, though. Vinyl would probably peel off pretty easily, I assume.


I think I will pull the trigger on that vinyl though...

If you wrap it well and take your time it will hold up for some time. But the hard caps hold up more down the road.

I have Genuine MINI checkered door handles and they match the black pretty well.
