I know that real time tuning while at the track or on the street is better then a dyno tune. However, not many people are running around with lap-top computers hooked up to their cars. So the next best thing is to tune it on a dyno.

and...when i said it was better then "cookie cutter" ECU flashes...i was reffering to when someone sends their ECU to get flashed or installs a generic piggy back system. Which you tell the company who is providing you with the service, what is installed on your car...

For instance, you tell them "I have head work" or "I have a CAI" or "i have a header/exhaust". Not every performance mod performs the same and the company can only make a well edjucated guess on how it performs and adjusts the ECU accordingly. This does help, but it is not as good as putting your car on the dyno and having it tuned perfectly for your mods/engine.

and as i have said before...real time track/on the street tuning is better then a dyno...

And if someone could tell me what cylinder/engine mods can flow like a beast to get me a 10K redline...I will do an ALL motor Cooper. I don't know what's cooler...ALL motor Cooper putting down 200 BHP or more or a turbo setup putting down 450-500 HP. I prefer NA because it will alleviate most tuning headaches. And don't tell me you can't do either one. It's possible and you'd just be another NAM hater. Both blocks can handle it and it takes the cash to back it.

You need to do some research for me...pleeese because I WILL BE FASTER than your current claim of "quickest and fastest non-twin charged non nitrous assisted MINI 13.2@105.5" Even if I have to do it myself! BTW, I will be scoping your place of business out for a bare MC block. I here they come in ALL the time.

I forgot to add the following:
Temp was 88F, humidity 28%, Altitude 10ft. Small squirell cage fan was set in front of intercooler.

Alex in Miami ran a 166 with a 2005 6 speed S, completely stock:
Max power: 165.94 (hp) @ 6800 RPM, Max Torque: 148.62 (ft-lb.) @ 4100 RPM

Next:

Car: 05' Cooper S Automatic completely stock.
Max power: 153.98 (hp) @ 6800 rpm, Max Torque: 141.85 (ft-lb.) @ 4300 rpm

Next:
Car: 2005 MCSa 20K miles
Max Power: 156.85 (hp) @ 6500 rpm Torque: 150.98 (ft-lb.) @ 5100 rpm
Mods: Alta CAI, Miltek header, Miltek cat back, MyMini 15% pulley, MTH, and 380cc JCW injectors

This MCSa pulled his plugs at the dyno only to see half of the insulator was worn. He swapped plugs the next day and said it ran like a completly different car.

Don, I respect you, but I have to I have to wonder, where are your MINIs? On your site all I see picturs of are BMWs.

Maybe I missed it, but I haven't see the Precision MINI race car(s).

Hey Bro, I will be out there Friday the 13th with my other buddy who just bought a 04 silver MCS. He has already done some mods with Mini Works off Indian Rd. Let me know if you will be around, so we can raise Hell.

Actually..........it's out EAST where it worked out GREAT!

But I do agree that this is not something I would not normally recommend.....

I just started speed reading this thread and it has been interesting with all the bantering back and forth but , I love that you are pushing the limits with the M600 fully aware that it will blow or twist something . Then I assume you will fix it and keep going , I like that theory . There is a BMW 2.8 L that did the same thing kept pushing the boost higher and higher until finally a rod bent at a recorded WHP of over 700+.Now with a completely built engine the little 2.8 L is going to see what king of WHP it can attain... Keep it up FireBall team Most people love what you are about....

I have read other threads about dyno numbers, hp vs whp, etc, etc.....
But what matters to me is the Butt Dyno test and the real pedal to the metal, blasting down the track pushing the limits. That is where it matters. (and the FUN FACTOR too! )

I am getting an ECU add on to my Kelleners ECU within the next 2 weeks. Sure a dyno run will be done on the Dyno-Jet. Last run I did was @199/200 whp on a fast blast w/o the add on. I am also going to bump the rev limit to 8k as I am still killing the MINI at 7.5k.

Hope your project works out well for you

thanks man.... that's exactly it... we have been pushing for sometime now.. and she just keeps taking it...

in the beginning ( way backin 02-03...LOL...) before all of us at Fireballed! came together.... pushing it was made fun of cause people broke a few ring lands.... but who else was making 280 WHP + back then... LOL... heck... not many do now...

it's so funny cause most are afraid to break... but that's only bad if you are reckless... we have been very methotical in what we do... and have broken nothing.... it's always fun to see whos doing what... and it sounds like you have got that 2.8 doing some CRAZY stuff.... that's awsome!! I'd love to hear more about it...

well... i can't say what the s2ks were made of... but i can tell you what we would use when I wanted to make my honda rev to 9K rpms.... Titanium valve springs and retainers. Its pretty much a standard upgrade when you build the head on a honda. Actually i think the integra type R came with titanium retainers... i could be wrong though...

Now THATS an intake! May need to go to Motec engine managment though since thats a throttle cable. Nuzzo did it.
