We all are in search of a 200 hp MINI.
But why do we want 200 hp......to get there faster.
Some us never make it to the track, but getting to 60mph from a
stoplight is very important.
MCS have been recorded in 0-60 anywhere from 7.1 sec to 7.8 sec in some magazines.

What I want to know is what are you running after an intake.
After exhaust.
After pullys.
After a Header install.

Lets give some data for those of us who live at each stoplight.

That sounds pretty fast!! The MINI keeps looking like a better deal! Do the wheels make much of a difference in acceleration vs the stock minilites with runflats?

Is it possible to get mid-high 5 seconds or do the tires just spin too much?

Wheels make a difference -- mostly the weight. Lighter is better. "Grippier" tires also help. Cold weather helps - the car is not as crisp and fast in hot weather.

My co-driver ran a 6.14 on a cold night. I don't think mid to high 5 seconds are possible without more HP and a limited slip differential. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.....

Wow, those are some impressive times.
Which modification did you notice made the largest improvements?
Intake?

shut off the DSC and banged out a 6.5 and 6.1 using the g-tech pro comp. (the passenger and a sunroof i had are worth about 260 lbs)

Quaife, 16" AKS wheels (with cheezy winter tires, but 34 lbs each) flywheel, Rogue intake and exhaust, Supersprint header, (stock cat) and the 15% pulley.

Have to work on that wheelspin, but high 5's are easily within reach with my Toyo's and some practice.

Took me a while to take my eye off the Gtech and drive. That
made a difference for me....best around 6.7 so far.
Magnaflow,BMP, Kosei 17/7.5 with Yoko AVS e100s 215/45/17.

If your getting a lot of wheel spin, let a touch of air out of the tires. It isn't as impressive to not spin your wheels off the line, but it gets you there faster..... Even a pound of air can make a big difference. Anything to reduce weight will also help lighten the car obviously. Motoring partners add weight, as does a full tank of gas, etc....

My brother and I tested Sprog II last night (MCS)...

I was quite appalled - two people in the car, running on the S-Lite rims, really bogged it down, the best I could get was 8.1 sec! By a watch timer. So, its time to buy some lighter tires (I don't wanna give up the rims, love the S-lites), and an intake. Question is... which intake... new exhaust later as well... and I'm wondering how much of a job it would be to change the flywheel...

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but in order to reduce wheelspin I had to feather the clutch quite a bit. DSC just made things go poo.

John, your car should fly -- I should think with an empty tank and no passenger you could do high 5's -- but it does take practice to launch it right.
