No I really haven't. Maybe I haven't dug into any N18 thread(s) because I don't own one? This one was not titled as such, so I checked in to see what tuning options were being offered. I then pointed out that the JB+ is a slick little unit and asked if the N14 would see one. Terry answered, beginning/end of issue.

So... how do you guys think a MCS w/ the JB+ compares to a fJCW?

There's plenty of 'hope' in that statement! Hang in there all you N14 guys, and be patient.

Maybe we should just avoid the confusion by changing the thread title to : Burger Tuning N18 ONLY JB+ tuner

There are so many pages of posts for this thread, it would take most people a long time to sift through it to find their answer, so 99% of all human beings will resort to asking the question about the N14, and I don't totally blame them.

Just my $.02

I have driven a MCS w/ JCW Tune Kit and a fJCW. MCS JB+ is equal to or just a bit quicker than the Tune Kit . fJWC is quicker than JB+. fJCW can't compare w/ JB+....way diff packages.

FYI, spoke to Jon at Burger, extremely quick to respond and helpful. The reason my car did not pass inspection was not the JB+, it was because if the can tool. He said the car needs to go through a few cycles of starting and warming up and cooling down before the sensors and codes would reset. Just wanted to out this out there in case someone else has to take their car in for emissions testing. I would remove the can till prior to the test, about a weeks time and you should be fine.

Is it wrong of me to hope for a JB4 for all N18s. Before they start development for JB+ on N14 engines. Thats a big "if" on both counts

I can't tell if mine figured things out or it's just one of those car days, but finally over 100 miles and today the boost didn't get over 15.3 at WOT. Tomorrow is a new day!

mine factory will hit 15-16 psi briefly in the right gear. But on the highway if i put it in 6th it will peg on 13psi

By "all N18s" I of course mean JCW and GP

Thanks good to know, Texas inspection is due next month.

I miss my car the dealer loaner is an s but it is wimpy. (Nothing to do with the JB+, brakes and lumber support in the seat popped.)
JB+ is great feels like a new engine in my car.

Terry,

I would like to relocate the box to a different spot, do you sell extensions for the wires? Maybe like 8"-12" for each side.

Thanks

Stage 1 is already in development. Terry said Stage 1 will have some/most? of the features you would expect from a JB4.

This is the part I'm going to love:-). Hopefully he's still going to be able to make it reliable so the internals won't explode on me lol.

I'm just running stock intake with upgraded filter and forge intercooler.

I'm wondering if they JB+ likes higher octane a bit more? When I was in the break in period I was at about half a tank left... That was a tank that I had filled nearly half with 100 octane the rest with 91.

This tank only got 5 gallons of 100 exactly, rest with 91, so I'm wondering if maybe that's the difference in feel. It certainly feels better than stock, but not the same as "day two", where it was rip your face off torque and boost around 18 PSI with my foot in it.

I should be around half a tank again by the end of today, so maybe i'll refill it with 100 again to see.

What's the averages you guys are seeing with the JB+ as far as boost goes? And are you running stock or any other engine mods?

Running 100 octane when meth starts spraying.

As far as boost, under full load I'll see 18psi and then it'll taper down to 17 or 16 psi.

I slapped on an open intake last night and went for a spin, the car was only hitting 12/13 psi max.
I'll keep driving for half the day with it on, then switch back to the OEM one.

As far as engine mods that are relevant to power:
Forge FMIC
Catless-DP mated with a 2.5in catback
HFS-4

and a K&N drop-in filter-although I question if that does anything.

Jb+

Not sure how you guys are getting 17-19psi. I average about 12-13psi with my JB+. I would occasionally peak at 18psi when I look at the Scangauge logs. But other than that I'm around 12-13psi. How do you guys have so much more power? Is it the shitty octane in California? Or should I run the OEM intake? I've heard that the OEM air box is the best. But I want the crazy boost!

12-13 psi is a bit on the low side.
You should be getting closer to 16psi with default settings(how the JB+ comes from BMS).

-And open intake as in the Alta, DDM SIS, NM Intake etc. the intakes that are fully exposed under the hood, not fully enclosed.

I asked about them because when I went from OEM intake(hitting 18-17psi) and installed an open intake, I was only hitting 12-13psi.

I'll be driving with the open set up for half the day today, then switch back to stock to compare seat of the pants feel.

**always been a firm believer of stock being best.

I have an M7 heat shield on the way. Debating if that would do a lot to the under hood temps. I just thought the OEM one was so restrictive.

Anybody know if/when this will be available for the N14?

Serious question though.

I've got an R60 All4 S, completely stock at this point except for an AFE dry intake filter.

According to Torque on my smartphone, I'm peaking at 16.1 to 16.5 psi boost when I get on it. I'm at 4500 feet elevation and run 91 octane (10% EtOH).

This seems higher boost than others are reporting for their stock N18s, and I wonder what this means in terms of: 1) whether the JB+ will provide me any benefit, and 2) whether the JB+ will be safe in my engine -- I think too much boost is a bad thing, right?
