Sorry if that has been asked and answered already but will this be available for 2013 JCW cars?

No. Not for the JCW or GP's.

MCS JB+ vs. JCWkit vs. fJCW vs. GP side by side Top Gear style 'match' would be really cool.....come on Hollywood.

I'm not aware that has been said officially . . .
testing is limited to MCS at this point . . .
(but I could be wrong)

Terry posted back on Sept 11 that it is for cars that make 12-13 psi boost, so JCWs and GPs are out for now. I would say that is official.

Sport mode is insanely fun. It can now be called 'beast' mode due to the factory throttle remapping on top of the power gains.

Everything moves up 20mph meaning going 80 is as easy as going 60 used to be and 60 -> not legal passing is stupidly easy. Keep tabs on your speedo; its too easy to ride the rush. Stock brakes are not overwhelmed, which is good.

Even with gains across the board, the power has moved up the rpm range a little but not too far as to turn the engine into an on/off (honda) switch.

Boost goes from 14psi peak to 16psi. Run meth/E85 and you can turn the boost up to 18psi via the pot in the JB+.

I've noticed peak coolant temp is now 107 C on the JCW gauge versus 105 prior, which is a fair trade-off for the power gain. Change your engine/tranny oil frequently. Hopefully the JB4 will have an option to run the car at 90-95 C all the time like the '13 guys have with sport mode on (or fulltime in the JCW).

Get the CAN tool if you can afford it, the speedo is useless as a speedo but great for watching boost pressure. Fuel gauge is good for watching timing. Hopefully the IAT and throttle gauges will be added soon.

I did the 50 mile 'adjustment' period the day I got it, mostly city, and peak boost goes immediately from 14 to 16 psi with more midrange power gradually showing up as you drive. Someone else noted it took up to 100 miles to feel the full effect.

How do you turn up the boost on the JB+?

open the box, there's a blue pot(potentiometer) dial that you can rotate to different numbered levels.

The adjustment dial should generally not be changed. In some cases if cars on 91 octane pick up knock code we'll have you reduce it. If using methanol you could raise it a bit. For those on 93 octane I'd leave it as is unless you are skilled a monitoring boost, knock, afr, etc.

I got one of those notes too but I got in my car and drove around the neighborhood. I got it now. Do I just plug the JB+ in with the car off or do I need to disconnect the battery first?

Ha ha, I drove around too, found a different postman and called the post office, they confirmed my carrier had already finished so I have to wait since the office closed at noon.

Yes plug it in when the car is OFF. Basically you pop and open the hood, close and lock the doors wait 5 min or so for the car to enter sleep mode then install it, Terry does describes the procedure a few posts up.

It certainly added more power when you step on it but still tame for normal driving.

I like it. For ~$300 it's worth it.

Ugh, mine came today and we were home and the post office decided not to drive up my 315' driveway and lazily put the notice that it was not delivered in my mailbox! How awesome! The suspense is killing me!

Still in adaption process but it gained some power. Hoping I will get more power each day. But certainly hope they make a JB4 so we can get even more power. Jealous of the 3 series with JB4. Looks so damn fast on YouTube.

Does anyone know exactly what the JB+ does inside? Does it convert a number into a higher number or something since it works only off the MAF sensor?

If you know what an Arduino is, this is somewhat similar.

I don't think he was asking what it is physically, but what parameter does alter and then pass to the ECU.

But this information is intellectual property so Terry might be a little evasive in answering this question. I'm interested also at least from a big picture point of view.
