Has anyone tried this CAI placement?

Instead of using the hood scoop as my source of airflow, I used the space next to the light. I'm not sure if this will be my final configuration, I just wanted to see what everyone thought.

I'm going to utilize the hood scoop for my next one. I'll be interested to see if there's a noticeable difference.

I've been more than happy with the results. Especially the sound!

Nice work Do you notice any difference in throttle response, other differences? It's got to sound good.

Be careful with the placement/location of the MAF...they are very sensitive and picky on this car

If you aren't having issues though, then awesome, looks cool!

Nice. Complicates oil filter replacement a bit, though, I'd guess.

What would be some signs of improper placement of the MAF? I haven't noticed any problems, but then again, I'm not sure what I'd be looking for.

I definitely noticed a difference in response. I couldn't be happier!

I'll have to upload a video of the sound at some point. It sounds like I'm running a turbo twice the size of what I actually have. ;o)

My MAF didnt like it

You mean something like this?

I ran my car with a cut up ALTA tube for awhile but the MAF was not happy so I decided on a DIY DOS type setup. I have thought about trying it again and like that you didn't have to relocate the overflow tank.

I second that.

I'd also like to see a parts list and hear if this caused a CEL or not.

Especially if you can hear the turbo spool up a lot more.. I might have to get rid of the K&N!
