I have the invidia catback for my r53 s. is it possible to buy an obx header and weld on my stock cat on the obx header and still pass my emissions test?
If so, would i see any performance difference? im guessing the sound would be alot better

ummm...not too sure, i have the alta exhaust, and it was a direct bolt on to the stock exhaust manifold. However, w/ my obx header, it doesnt just bolt up to the alta exhaust. I had to weld a straight pipe from the header to the exhaust. (no cat) we cut the part of the cat off where it would bolt up to the alta exhaust, and welded that to the straight pipe. No cat, only b/c we dont testing! Sounds super nice too!

Going over 2-1/4" on the exhaust pipe will actually wind up costing you some power because of lost exhaust velocity.

The thing you have to watch is which muffler(s) you use. If you stick with a dual muffler setup have them put a Y in and run the same length pipe to both mufflers (IOW don't copy the stock setup).

You should also be careful which mufflers you choose and ensure:
1. Either the single muffler of the total of both can flow the needed 395cfm.
and
2. The total interior volume of your muffler(s) is right about 28 cubic inches (single cylinder volume plus 10%)

Hope that helps.
Good thing i stuck with 2.25" because Jan's tuned stock R56 made more power than an R56 with a Catback! Even though they sound so sweet

That looks like it would be loud with just a resonator. What does it cost? The web page hides the cost unless you enter your email and info.

Crevier had there first version on ebay about a year ago, i picked it up for about 700.00, installed with a OBX header and a magnflow cat,

Maybe because im close to 40, but the in car noise is too much for me,

Here is a link to my post i left about my newest exhaust, Moroso Sprial flow,
Hope to get a sound file this weekend, Sounds much better than the zoomers system, And i picked up some throttle responce, The zoomers muffler was huge, thinking the interanl volume was to big

Ill find out next weekend,
Track day at Miller Sports Park, i am running same set up at last year, only thing i have added is Camber plates and Cabrio bars,

Before zoomers I had installed a 15% pulley, then OBX header With a one ball exhaust,
Once i installed full exhaust it seems i lost bottom end and tip in throttle reposnce, Now with a muffler change i feel i have gained some of what i lost

Ooo icic, yeah cuz before i had the zoomer.

I had 17% pulley, custom headers, CAI, and JCW exhaust. when i installed the Zoomer, it was a pretty big different for me. i agree for the bottom end, but i dont know about the throttle response, maybe i didnt really focus in on it, but it was a big change from JCW to zoomer

i believe im running at 185hp and 173 toq last time i ran a dyno

but yeah, let me know how that goes man =]

Moroso sprial flow muffler

Here is a in car vid, windows down, camer mount is where rear veiw mirror is, This a a older Zoomers exhaust with a Moroso Sprial flow in place of the zoomers,
The incar pressure is greatly reduced. i can hear my radio again on trips, The power is smoother, not as off and on, And did i gain performance? Well all 4 races last year i was getting beat by Mazda Speed 3's, this track day i took second Lost to a 2007 cooper s with Mods, beat the the same speed 3's
